you need a good moisturizer to start. It can be expensive but paul mitchell has a good shampoo %26amp; rinse (thats the wash out conditioner) then follow it up with the leave in conditioner.

depending on if your hair is naturally curly or not, or if you want it curly or not getting volume can be achieved several ways. Blow drying up at the roots can give volume. but blowdrying also can cause dry split ends. I like to pull my hair up loosely on the top of my head until it is almost dry - that gives me a lot of volume without blow drying.

at night, massage olive oil onto your hair (not your scalp) put on a shower cap.when u get up in the morning wash it off with shampoo. try not to use a hair dryer too often

You might want to skip a day between washes; I find that if I wash daily, it tends to make my hair look very blah by the end of the week. Surprisingly, Alberto V05 Voluminizing Shampoo (yes, the super cheap 99 cent stuff at CVS) works wonders, use that and afterwards a conditioner, but just at your ends, and gently comb it through with a wide tooth comb before rinsing. If you blow-dry your hair, add a little voluminizing spray or gel to help give it extra bounce (I like Bumble and Bumble thickening spray), and if you're really looking for some volume, add some velcro rollers at the crown and let them sit for 15 minutes (but that takes a lot of extra time and you might want to save it for going out at night or something special). When you condition your hair, that will weigh your hair down, takes the body out of it. Of course it seems to soften it, but, to get body into your hair, don't use the conditioner. You could also try some mousse or gel to help style.

Go to a "natural" store and find something that has no sodium laureth sulfate or sodium laurel sulfate (these are industrial solvents that are used because they are inexpensive and create alot of foam) I like "Avalon" products...They can be purchased at "Trader Joes", and many other stores.(I don't work for either and I hope this answer doesn't cause problems for me with the larger companies!)
