I just moved to another state. And the water is hard. My hair stays dry. What can i use for my hair.

well, this one really isn't for your hair, but you could spend about $100 or so and get your self a water softener! They work great, and your water will be healthy to drink and bathe in. See, bathing in hard water isn't good for your skin either. It makes your skin super dry and of course your hair. It's kinda worth the money. As for your hair, I would recommend trying different types of shampoo and conditoner. I prefer herbal Essinance. They have a lot of different type you can choose from. and it's not too pricy. I do hope some of this might help.

I just moved to another state. And the water is hard. My hair stays dry. What can i use for my hair.?

try to use a conditioner after you wash. something with avocado or carrot oil.

you also might want to try a hot oil treatment for moisturizer.......

I just moved to another state. And the water is hard. My hair stays dry. What can i use for my hair.?

Suggest you apply coconut oil to your hair and massage it in thoroughly. Wrap it in a towel or a shower cap and leave it on overnight. (Put a towel on your pillow!) Next morning, wash your hair as usual and you will find that it is silky and manageable and will be less drier than usual. You can do this once a week or every couple of weeks.

My hair is dried out what can i use on it so it not so dry HELP PLEASE?

My hair was like that a few years ago from all the hair dyes and chemicals.

I treated my dry hair the old fashion way - before you wash your hair, put virgin olive oil on my hair (but not near the roots). Wrap your hair in plastic clear wrap from the kitchen and take your blowdryer and blowdry your newly wrapped hair (with the warm setting on). Do this for a few minutes, then wait about 10 minutes, and wash the olive oil off in the shower.

This worked wonders for me (my hair was a mess, the salons didn't even know how to fix it; besides chopping everything off, that is) - it's pretty much like a hot oil treatment but much more effective.

Try this treatment once or twice a week and you're hair will be silky and shiny in no time

Hope that helps!

My hair is dried out what can i use on it so it not so dry HELP PLEASE?

Hello, I have pretty long hair and when it feels dry, I use Jojoba Oil. You can buy it at any Sally's beauty shop for about $5.00 for a pretty good size bottle!!! You can use it as a deep conditioner, hot oil treatment or just use it to tame frizzies. A little goes a long way...but I couldn't live without it!!!

I hope that it helps you out...it really helps me out!!!!

My hair is dried out what can i use on it so it not so dry HELP PLEASE?

CONDITIONER!!!! CONDITIONER!!!!CONDITIONER!!!!!

My hair is dried out what can i use on it so it not so dry HELP PLEASE?

yah head and sholders or that kangaroo stuff (lol) it works for my cousin

My hair is dried out what can i use on it so it not so dry HELP PLEASE?

Okay, try this, first use either Pantee or Dove shampoo and conditioner for dry hair, don't ask, its cheap, but it works wonders, and only wash your hair three times a week. On the days you don't wash your hair, still of course take a shower or whatever you do, but just run hot water over your hair. Eventually your hair will gain back its natural oils, you just have to baby it, and shampooing all the time hurts it....

My hair is dried out what can i use on it so it not so dry HELP PLEASE?

they sell a product in the hair section at wal-mart or any store like that called cholesterol and it is a really thick conditioner work it in your hair and wrap it in a hot damp towel when the towel cools rinse your hair should help work great !

My hair is dried out what can i use on it so it not so dry HELP PLEASE?

Buy a deep conditioner and leave on for half an hour. Do this every other day for a week or two. Then cut down to every three or four fdays. It will bring it back. Get a trim as well, that will take of the damaged ends.

My hair is dried out what can i use on it so it not so dry HELP PLEASE?

Everyother week I'll wash my hair w/ shampoo %26amp; Conditner and then once its all rinsed out, I towel dry my hair and put enough extra virgin olive oil (regular olive oil is good to) in my hair and put a shower cap on my head for 2 minutes get back in the shower wash it out with shampoo. Once it's dryed my hair is silky and smooth not dry only do it once every other week! good luck hun :)

My hair is dried out what can i use on it so it not so dry HELP PLEASE?

Go to a public beauty supply like a sallys and get a reconstructor packet its around $2. after you get out of the shower put it in wet to moist hair leave it on for an hour with a plasstic cap or saran wrap. Also go out and get a moistorizing shampoo and conditioner .Make sure the ingrediants for the conditioner doesnt say wax.

Shampoo, then condition. Proper shampooing is the first step to a healthy scalp and manageable hair, but don't use a conditioning shampoo. Two-in-one products that combine shampoo and conditioner really can't do a good job of either cleansing or conditioning. After all, how can a product effectively remove and add substances at the same time?

Instead, use a gentle shampoo to cleanse, then follow with a conditioner specifically geared for dry hair every time you shampoo. Don't worry about shampooing too often. Today's gentle shampoos are designed for frequent use.

Deep-condition regularly. To fill nicks and chips in the hair's damaged outer layer and restore shine, deep-condition. Depending on the condition of your hair, once a week or once every few weeks is all that is needed. Consisting of various combinations of natural and synthetic ingredients (including proteins, polymers or other additives), deep conditioners don't "feed" your hair; they just fill in defects and coat the hair shaft, resulting in a smooth, flat surface that will reflect light and restore shine to your hair.

For maximum effectiveness apply a deep conditioner before you shampoo. Gently work the conditioner into your hair with your fingertips and allow it to be absorbed for a few minutes. Then shampoo and follow with your regular conditioner.

Pat your hair dry. Hair dryers and blowers--and even vigorous towel-drying--can rough up the outer layer of hair cells. So whenever possible, pat or gently squeeze your hair dry with a towel and avoid rough handling.

Use thermal styling conditioners. If you must blow-dry your hair, spray it with a thermal conditioner such as HeatSafe before you plug in your dryer. HeatSafe combines four different types of moisturizers designed to both treat and prevent dry hair.

Protect your tresses. To prevent the sun from drying your hair or exacerbating hair that's already dry, mist your hair with a sunscreen made for hair before you hit the beach or head for the pool. Or wear a hat whenever you're out in the sun.

Good luck. :)

My hair a dry very dry what can i do?

Well, lets see!!! You definitely should get some essential oils %26amp; do some relaxing therapy to your hair. I know from personal experience rosemary, lemon (for lighter hair colors), lavendar, chedarwood, almond %26amp; jojoba oils are very very good. All you do is massage the oils into your scalp (can even

blend the oils with egg %26amp; avocado) %26amp; throughout your hair, wrap hair in towel %26amp; relax....... watch some tv or do something very relaxing/ 40mins is good enough, i leave it in all night, but then again all up to you!!!

Is it true that you'll get a headache when you sleep with your hair not dry?

if true..why?

Is it true that you'll get a headache when you sleep with your hair not dry?

No. Old Wives Tale.

Is it true that you'll get a headache when you sleep with your hair not dry?

No, but a wet pillow! It is when the hair dries "wrong," it pulls and hurts your head. So yep, you could get a headache. Dry your hair!

Is it true that you'll get a headache when you sleep with your hair not dry?

not really depends.

if ur head/hair is wet and u hab the AC on or the fan then i might get cold and make u sick...

Is it true that you'll get a headache when you sleep with your hair not dry?

I go to bed with damp hair all of the time. I don't think I have ever woken with a headache

Is it true that you'll get a headache when you sleep with your hair not dry?

I say yes. Only because everyone else answered no. Saying yes gives me a better chance at the best answer points.

Is it true that you'll get a headache when you sleep with your hair not dry?

That's what my mom says, but I occasionally sleep with my hair wet and I never got any headaches. But then again, I don't think I have ever gotten a headache in my entire life.

My hair is dry and somewhat frizzy, i use treseme shampoo, is that what is causing my hair to be thi

No way. TreSemme is an excellent product. I use it all the time. You hair probably just dry %26amp; needs a deep conditioner from time to time %26amp; perhaps a leave-in as well. Speak to your stylist for moisturizing tips.

My hair is dry and somewhat frizzy, i use treseme shampoo, is that what is causing my hair to be this way?

Blow drying is the main reason try a conditioner such as infusium 23 it is great leave in or rinse out.

My hair is dry and somewhat frizzy, i use treseme shampoo, is that what is causing my hair to be this way?

It could be- no matter how expensive and good, your hair could be "allergic" just like people are to stuff at salons (I am!)

change your brand for at least a month and see if there is a difference, otherwise, it could be a styling product. GOOD LUCK!

My hair is dry and somewhat frizzy, i use treseme shampoo, is that what is causing my hair to be this way?

It could just be hot air, curlers, flat irons or not enough conditioner.

My hair is dry and somewhat frizzy, i use treseme shampoo, is that what is causing my hair to be this way?

It's possible. Shampoos react differently on various types of hair. A shampoo that works terrific for one person may practically ruin another person's hair. We're all different! Try a shampoo formulated for dry hair, there are many good one on the market. A lot of people have success with the low priced products, a shampoo doesn't have to be prestige to work well. Be careful about blow-drying your hair, that can cause dry frizzies. Use a deep conditioner. Alberto VO5 has some excellent ones.

My hair is dry and somewhat frizzy, i use treseme shampoo, is that what is causing my hair to be this way?

That could be the problem! Treseme is not a shampoo I would recommend for your hair type. I found that using Pantene for color woman works even if you are not a woman of colors. Use Conditioner separate from the Shampoo. Wash your hair once ever 3 days so you don't wash out your natural oils. When using shampoo, use only a dime size. Any shampoo that over foams will dry out your hair even worse and cause the frizz your talking about. Once a week, do a hot oil treatment to relax it. Also once a week, buy the best conditioner (Biotene, product found at Walgreen). After your shower, apply the deep conditioner on and wrap it in a towel. Leave it on overnight. This will give your hair the moisture it has lost over time. Do this one time for two weeks and you will see results. Avoid coloring your hair if you already do. Use Nexus frizz control oil or Chi products oil (all can be found at Wal-greens) everyday. Remember not to wash your hair everyday. Only every 3 days!!!

I recently permed my hair know its dry and it looks bad how can i fix this what can i do to make it

its dry its just terrible looking how can i fix this please help im desperate

I recently permed my hair know its dry and it looks bad how can i fix this what can i do to make it look bette

Try using a deep conditioner every time you wash your hair, provided it doesn't make your hair greasy, which it usually won't with curly hair, and don't shampoo every time (rinse, put a deep conditioner in, and wash it out according to the instructions). Try shampooing maybe once a week, or better yet, only when you notice product build up. Maybe it sounds gross, but according to my best friend's radically overpaid hair stylist , conditioner has many of the same ingredients as shampoo, so your hair isn't really staying dirty, and isn't getting dryed out by the shampoo. It does work for my naturally curly hair, without greasyness, but everyone's different.

Aveda deep conditioners are great, or Bed Head "dumb blonde" deep conditioner, if you can afford it, but I've found that most of the chain store deep conditioners work fine, too, though it may take a little experimenting there to find which ones work best for you.

In case you're not used to curly hair in general: Avoid blowdryers as much as you can, even with a diffuser, and if you use them, don't dry your hair all the way. They'll frizz curly or wavy hair like crazy if you don't do it just right, and dry it out more at the same time. As much as possible, use some kind of scrunch spray, or curl booster in your hair when it's wet (or both, though avoid using two oily products together), yes, it may take awhile to find the right combo, then let it dry naturally, running your fingers through curls while drying as little as possible after an initial (while wet) styling to keep away the frizz. Hope this helps!

Try the Hot Oil treatments. V05 or something like that?

Or the Neutrogena Triple Moisture treatments work really well.

You can also try and get a cut at a salon to bring back some life.

Get some salon style products. Loreals Nature therapy really helped me out you can get it at Sallys. It has an orange lid with a yellow bottom.

I recently permed my hair know its dry and it looks bad how can i fix this what can i do to make it look bette

the best thing i have ever used for my hair when its dried and damaged is Pantene Pro-v Intensive Restoration Treatment. It's like a conditioner that you leave in your hair for about 10 minutes, then rinse. It will fix almost all of your problems with your hair, and the best part is, it is only about $4.

I recently permed my hair know its dry and it looks bad how can i fix this what can i do to make it look bette

go see/talk to a salon professional. Till then try some Lo-real moisturizing shampoo and Lo-real Nature's therapy conditioner..it works wonders. You can buy it at any sally beauty supply store. Costs about $12.00 for the conditioner andabout $6.00 for the shampoo but it's well worth the money!

I recently permed my hair know its dry and it looks bad how can i fix this what can i do to make it look bette

Hot oil treatment followed with a deep moisturizing conditioner, use a leave in afterward that seals in moisture, like a cream that enhances shine and reduces frizz, I like the curl line of Garnier Fruictis.

Is hair easier to French Braid while wet or dry?

I have medium to long hair, it's natural curly but if I brush it out it's soft waves. I've been trying something new and braiding it. I've known how to braid my own hair since I was 10 yrs. old but can't remember what's better...

wet or dry?

thanks.

Is hair easier to French Braid while wet or dry?

when it's damp or dry.

Is hair easier to French Braid while wet or dry?

dry

Is hair easier to French Braid while wet or dry?

I think dry is easier. It's hard to get it smooth when it's wet - unless you use a brush at the same time.

Is hair easier to French Braid while wet or dry?

Well huni it dependz what type of hair you have!!! but i alwayz find it easier to french braid WET!!!!! xox

Is hair easier to French Braid while wet or dry?

matters if you want tight or loose.. i find its easier to do wet.. well damp at least.. you can pull the shorter hairs and tuck them better.. dry hair can look smoother though.. but the tighter you can get it.. the longer it stays looking nice

it's like turning your hair into silk

My real hair was black i make them light blound ,my hair is dry i need to know what kind of shampoo is good?

go to a salon or a professional beauty supply store and look for shampoos and conditioners for dry and damaged hair. and also a deep conditioners to use once a week.

My real hair was black i make them light blound ,my hair is dry i need to know what kind of shampoo is good?

Hmmmm, i had the same problem an year ago... the best shampoo for this problem is l'oreal for dry hair or gliss from schwarzkopf for split-end problem. but u must also, change the hair dye... use l'oreal or wella safira.

My real hair was black i make them light blound ,my hair is dry i need to know what kind of shampoo is good?

Basically give your hair a good conditioner . Try leaving conditioner in your hair for 1/2 an hour then wash it out and comb through your hair. I have found that pantene shampoo makes the colour in my hair fade really easily. Use a special colour shampoo in your hair to leave the colour in. Tyr to use a shampoo with oil in it like garnier mircro bead oil shampoo, that should repair your hair too. You can also buy hair treatment masks from the supermarket. Its all about finding a product that your hair likes. Also heads and shoulders is good for a dry scalp, one of the hair dyes i onced used left me with a dry scalp and dandruff i soaked my hair in the shampoo and had lovely soft hair afterwards

My real hair was black i make them light blound ,my hair is dry i need to know what kind of shampoo is good?

there should be a special shampoo that goes with it (if u done it in a salon)

My real hair was black i make them light blound ,my hair is dry i need to know what kind of shampoo is good?

actually no shampoo can repair extremely damaged hair. Getting it trimmed does help as well as deep conditioning. Your best bet is to get a semi permanent colour-dark blonde and get the light blonde highlights instead of light blonde all over as the semi. makes your hair really soft and silky,, another alternative if you don't want to change your colour you have now is to get a clear semi-ermanent colour this wont change your exsisting light blonde hair but will give u lots of shine and silky. Considering you have black hair you shouldn't make all your hair light blone as this looks tacky and it's a general rule that you don't go 4 shades lighter than your natural colour I highly reccomend getting a semi permanent colour in dark blonde level 6 as I was saying before .

The chlorine in pools does this to me too. Sometimes it even affects my breathing(asthma) I'll bet the lake or the ocean doesn't affect you, huh?

Why do I have a stuffy nose and head congestion after I go swimming every time? Also I completely dry my hair.

your just really sensitive

Why do I have a stuffy nose and head congestion after I go swimming every time? Also I completely dry my hair.

Its the chemicals in the water. I suffer with it too. Generally a Piriton tablet sorts me out!

Why do I have a stuffy nose and head congestion after I go swimming every time? Also I completely dry my hair.

form when you dive down the pressure builds up and gives you a runny nose and head congestion.

Why do I have a stuffy nose and head congestion after I go swimming every time? Also I completely dry my hair.

It's a reaction to the chemicals in the pool - mainly the chlorine. Generally if that is happening then there is too much chlorine in the pool. This is common in public pools because of the amount of bacteria in the water.

Why do I have a stuffy nose and head congestion after I go swimming every time? Also I completely dry my hair.

i tkin u have problem in ur ears

Why do I have a stuffy nose and head congestion after I go swimming every time? Also I completely dry my hair.

my guess is you are probably having some sort of allergic reaction to something though it may not be the swimming but some outside around the pool. think of surface of the water as a big net for any pollen or dust floating through the air.

Why do I have a stuffy nose and head congestion after I go swimming every time? Also I completely dry my hair.

Just a guess, but perhaps the chlorine in the water is irritating your sinuses. You should look into saline spray (sold in drugstores) to soothe the tissues. Or, drugstores also sell a little device that looks like a gravy boat that can help you deliver a stream of salted water in/through/out your sinus cavities to soothe and heal. It looks a little odd but it's painfree and easy once you get the hang of it. I saw it profiled on the Today Show.

Why do I have a stuffy nose and head congestion after I go swimming every time? Also I completely dry my hair.

Same thing happens to me; it's definately sinuses. For me the problem is mostly the sinuses in my nose, so my nose gets stuffy and some times I even get headaches. There's medicine you can take that can you out with that, like Flonase for example, and you can just use that before and after swimming.

Why do I have a stuffy nose and head congestion after I go swimming every time? Also I completely dry my hair.

You may be allergic to something in the pool or yard where the pool is.Take a Benadryl when you get out.

Whats better for dry hair?? hot oil treatment or hair relaxers?

Hot oil treatments does work better for your dry hair. You should also add hair lotion to your scalp daily.

Whats better for dry hair?? hot oil treatment or hair relaxers?

Why do you want to opt for the relaxing thought. Definitely definitely hot oil treatment. Speak to your stylist about BB Hair scalp oil, has worked magic for me. My hair used to be so dry and the new growth would come and my hair keeps breaking. But now all I do is apply the hot oil treatment on a more regular basis using BB Hair stuff and my hair is long up to my mid back and has lustre and richness in it.

I hope this works for you too. Good luck.

Whats better for dry hair?? hot oil treatment or hair relaxers?

I have very thick medium-dry hair, and I wash it ONLY when it gets oily from product. But on the days I don't use shampoo, I use only conditioner, and I leave a little bit of it in. Then I towel dry it until it is damp and put on an oil based product. I might use the hair dryer and curling iron twice a week at most. I try to find other styles for long hair, which do not require heat. It is the heat that KILLS my hair and makes it very dry.

Do you straighten your hair? Does it really dry out your hair?

Also what kind of hair straightner do you use? Is it true the chi really locks in natural moisture? It says this but does it really?

Do you straighten your hair? Does it really dry out your hair?

Yes and yes. I use a leave in conditioner(sometimes) and moisturizing shampoo/conditioner so it doesnt get dry. I use some knockoff straightner from ebay, which works as well as the expensive ones. I would think it does, considering how shiny straightening makes hair.

Do you straighten your hair? Does it really dry out your hair?

i dont have the chi but i have the ISO which is also a professional straightener and it does lock in moister. my hair hasnt been dry since i switched straighteners

Do you straighten your hair? Does it really dry out your hair?

yes i flat iron my hair, and no mine doesnt dry out b-cuz i put flat iron spray in it before i straighten it!

Do you straighten your hair? Does it really dry out your hair?

A lot of people on these boards warn, "Don't get a straightner! They'll fry your hair!"

Truth is, straightners are awesome tools if you're not careless. They may not be right for people who have naturally fine hair or who dye their hair a lot, but most people can use them no problem. Just make sure you use a good heat protecting product *every time* you use it and make sure you buy a quality flat iron (not a cheap Conair or something like that!) And try not to straighten every day.....

The CHI gets great reviews, but I've often read that it breaks easily and gets weaker over time.

I always recommend Folica.com. They sell a lot of flat irons, the best of which is probably the Solia and the Sedu.

PS--I luvs my Solia.

Do you straighten your hair? Does it really dry out your hair?

no, try this

After a shower, is it right to mat my hair as i dry it instead of rubbing it?

i heard it is better to mat or pat it dry with the towel

After a shower, is it right to mat my hair as i dry it instead of rubbing it?

It is actually better to mat or pat your hair then rubbing it. Rubbing it roughs up the hair shaft and can make it frizzier. If you pat most of the water out and then style as normal it can help frizzies and fly aways.

After a shower, is it right to mat my hair as i dry it instead of rubbing it?

pat it with the dry towel..avoid rubbing it too much coz it might damage your hair texture..for the hair is in its most sensitive state when wet..

After a shower, is it right to mat my hair as i dry it instead of rubbing it?

Yes, rubbing causes frizz!

After a shower, is it right to mat my hair as i dry it instead of rubbing it?

I don't know. I just dry mine. I don't think it really matters.

Whats the BEST Deep Conditioning product for dry/damaged hair?

The other girls are right: Pantene Pro-V really does work and so does olive oil (except it makes a big mess), but the product that I'm in love with is Biosilk. I have been using it for about 3 months and I swear my hair is healthier, shinier and much softer.

Whats the BEST Deep Conditioning product for dry/damaged hair?

Mayo is good for the hair. You can use the kind in you re fridge or buy it out of the beauty shop.

Whats the BEST Deep Conditioning product for dry/damaged hair?

Pantene Restorative is excellent. My hair is dry and has some damage from coloring, but this conditioner leaves my hair soft, shiny and tangle free. Also, I always do a final rinse in cool water. I read that it promotes shinier hair, and I've gotta say as long as I do the cool rinse, no matter what my product, my hair's always nice and shiny.

Nexxus Humectress is an excellent deep conditioner. You can use it as an intense leave in or rinse it out after letting it sit for at least 3 minutes. It really helps to restore moisture!

What can I do to help my very dry scalp which is giving me dry, brittle hair on the top of my head?

I also have dry brittle hair and dry scalp. I make sure I use a better quality moisturizing shampoo. Not super expensive but pantene or herbal essence will do. I also leave in a bit of the conditioner, not too much though! You don't want limp hair too! Then I use some sort of laminate( like citre shine or paul mitchel) after I get out of the shower. It's pretty much a clear "grease" thats not greasy. They recommend a dime sized portion but I have a ton of hair and its really dry so I use like 2 quarter sized portions.

You'll have to try it for yourself to see how much to use. Also don't wash your hair everyday. You can wet it but washing everyday dries everything out and doesnt give your hair and scalp time to recover and make it's own oils. I wash mine 2-3 times a week instead of everyday. It may take a bit for your hair to be repaired but when you put the laminates in you should feel some sort of instant relief....Hope this helps!

What can I do to help my very dry scalp which is giving me dry, brittle hair on the top of my head?

Is it best to color your hair when its dry or oily?

Due to my length of hair, I dont wash my hair every day. I have wondered when it is best for color to take to the hair root. When it has just been washed or when it is a bit oily. Or maybe it doesent matter... Just curious ;)

Is it best to color your hair when its dry or oily?

The day after you wash your hair is the best time to color it. Your hairs natural oils will help protect the hair from additional damage. It can also help give a more even coloring, dry hair can absorb the color unevenly. But too much oil can do the same thing, so you shouldn't wait 3 or 4 days after you've washed it unless you have very dry hair.

Is it best to color your hair when its dry or oily?

i think when its oily

Is it best to color your hair when its dry or oily?

I would be better to color when the hair is clean, so that the color will take better.

Is it best to color your hair when its dry or oily?

As A hair stylest I would tell you to ash your hair first and the wait a day or two then color it you wil get the best results whenthe hair is clean

Is it best to color your hair when its dry or oily?

The directions in home hair color say don't use on just washed hair. I recommend washing your hair one morning and coloring the next day. A little oil on your scalp helps protect it from the chemicals in dye. I have been coloring mine for about 20 years and it works that way for me.

Is it best to color your hair when its dry or oily?

In cos. class they told us to remind our clients to wash their hair the day before no matter what the length.

Is it best to color your hair when its dry or oily?

the best way to colour you're hair, when it's clean and no oils or creams on it, so the hair colour will take effect and for the colour to show properly, trust me about that, i colour my hair all the time.. nad by th way, if you're hair is oily, the hair colour won't take any effect on your hair, it'll be like you did not colour your hair, or the hair colour will last for few weeks only..

Is it best to color your hair when its dry or oily?

I would recommend that you color hair dry due to when you apply color to clean and dry hair it allows the color to absorb better than it would being oily. Having oilly hair would not allow the color to deposite into the cortex correctly. If you applied color to oily hair it would cause uneven porisity due to having more or less oil through out the hair. However, uneven porisity can also be in dry hair but it all depends how bad the texture of hair is damage. It is best to do a porisity test before anyone deposites color into hair. Also, if the hair has uneven porisity one should always apply a filler to balance out the porisity on the hair. (FILLER=TEMPORARY COLOR AS IN SHADES EQ FROM REDKEN). YOU WILL HAVE TO KNOW A LICSENSE COSMETOLOGIST TO GET THIS OR GO TO A SALON TO HAVE IT DONE, OR U CAN GET A PRODUCT CALLED CHI AND THAT IS OVER THE COUNTER. AND IF USING REDKEN SHADES FOR A FILLLER MAKE SURE THE COSMETOLOGIST USES THE PROCESSING SOLUTION W/ IT. I HAVE HEARD AND SEEN THAT MANY DONT USE IT -BUT TRUST ME IT LOOKS ALOT BETTER AND HEALTHIER WHEN USED. ALWAYS FOLLOW MANUFACTURES DIRECTIONS! NOTE: NEVER USE BOX COLOR. ALL BOX COLOR HAS HENNA. GOOD LUCK AND FEEL FREE TO ASK ANY ?'s. and no cant apply color on wet hair that also causes uneven porosity.

Is it best to color your hair when its dry or oily?

If your oily or dry both the case you have to wash and clean it. then put color.

Is it best to color your hair when its dry or oily?

I think it depends on the hair color. Some brands do state on the box to apply to clean dry hair.

Which is healthier, to blow dry your hair or to use the straightening iron?

IT'S MUCH MUCH Better 2 "Blow Dry" Your hair under a LOW LOW Heat ! !

Which is healthier, to blow dry your hair or to use the straightening iron?

healthier to blow dry

easier to use staightning iron

Which is healthier, to blow dry your hair or to use the straightening iron?

I imagine that blow drying your hair is healthier because you aren't putting direct heat on both sides of each each strand of hair. Also, straightening irons can put a higher degree of heat on your hair.

If your hair is really dry and you don't have enough time for a shower, will conditioner help?

I mean plain conditioner, straight onto the hair. I mean, sometimes I really need moisture on my hair and don't have enough time for a shower. Because I take like 20 minutes to 40 minutes in the shower. So would putting on conditioner in the mornings add moisture to the hair?

If your hair is really dry and you don't have enough time for a shower, will conditioner help?

I wouldn't recomend Regular conditioner in your hair, It will just make it greasy and gross.

Try Leave in conditioner, That will help imensely!! It comes in a spray, and some you and work through your hair. %26lt;3

If your hair is really dry and you don't have enough time for a shower, will conditioner help?

Try Mayo...Yup...Mayo

If your hair is really dry and you don't have enough time for a shower, will conditioner help?

20 to 40 minutes in the shower??? Who pays your water bill?

Try a leave in conditioner it also comes in a spray.

If your hair is really dry and you don't have enough time for a shower, will conditioner help?

No, but pee will. What I mean is, pee in a cup and poor it on your head. Rub it in for approximately 1 hour. If you don't have to pee, it doesn't have to be your own. Get your boyfriend to pee on your head. Then rub it in for an hour. If you don't have time to rub your head, you can wear a portable messager on your head for an hour.

If your hair is really dry and you don't have enough time for a shower, will conditioner help?

hey...u can use a leave in conditioner....if u dont have a shower

dont use a normal conditioner...its bad to leave on normal conditioner...but there are special leave on conditioners to use..

and theres a good loreal serum...u can use..

hope it helps

tc

If your hair is really dry and you don't have enough time for a shower, will conditioner help?

Infusium23 sells a great leave-in conditioner that not only moisturizes, but leaves your hair shiny as well.

If your hair is really dry and you don't have enough time for a shower, will conditioner help?

I would NOT recommend using conditioner plain, because it'll make your hair look extremely greasy. However you could use leave in conditioner which has the additional benefits of protecting it from damage (such as the sun) and nourishing it.

Help for dry, brittle, colored hair?

ok so lately my hair has been through ALOT. lets just say that I cant really make up my mind about how I want it, but thats not the problem. see, over the past month, yes month, my hair has been bleached twice, and just last night, I decided to go back to my natural dark color. I like it better this way, so it will be staying this color for A WHILE. My hair is very thick, and a little past my shoulders in length. I know that my hair is damged from all of the color and bleach. Its naturally curly, but now its more frizzy than anything. Im not really sure exactly how to go about making up for all of the damage. It also lacks the shine that it used to have. Is there any way that I can get this back? my hair feels so un healthy. Thanks in advance you guys, and sorry for such a long description. lol :)

Help for dry, brittle, colored hair?

The best shampoo/conditioner for damaged hair is Extreme by Redken. Another good product is All Soft by Redken. But do not use All Soft if your hair is thin or if you want curl - it will be too heavy for your hair. You can buy a shine spray (Biolage has a good one) to spray on your hair after it's dry %26amp; styled to give it a healthier look, just go light on it or your hair will look greasy.

I am looking for something to help my hair not dry out so bad when I swim. Can anyone help me?

put olive oil in a spray bottle, then before you swim spray it in your hair, comb through, and braid tight, the oil will condition the hair and repel the water, and it will just look wet, if you don't use so much that the oil is dripping.

get it wet and coat it in leave in condiotioner before you get in the pool...this will also keep it from turning green if its blone and also use a clarifying shampoo like pual mitchell shampoo 3 once a week to clear out the chlorine and a deep conditioner afterwards

I am looking for something to help my hair not dry out so bad when I swim. Can anyone help me?

Wet your hair with water before swimming, it will help keep your hair from soaking up the chlorine, and wash as soon as your done swimming.

put on a deep conditioner

I am looking for something to help my hair not dry out so bad when I swim. Can anyone help me?

1.Wet your hair in the shower beforehand. Doing so makes it harder for your hair to absorb water laden with chemicals.

2.apply a leave-in conditioner, which protects your hair from the chemicals in the pool and minimizes the prospect of hair breakage,

Is it true that henna tend to dry the hair?

put oil on scalp and use henna. OR there are some tips to it----

check the links below for natural homemade beauty tips to:-- Natural Henna Powder - how to apply

http://geebal.blogspot.com/2006/08/henna...

Is it true that henna tend to dry the hair?

yah,,I've tried it it's great .. just add to tb of yoghurt..........

Is it true that henna tend to dry the hair?

I tried henna twice and both times it damaged my hair. Supposedly henna is supposed to improve the condition of your hair, but it just made mine dry and coarse. It also took away some of it's natural shine. I wouldn't recommend using henna unless you really know what you're doing. Henna can be very unpredictable.

Is it true that henna tend to dry the hair?

Henna basically coats your hair which can cause it to be dull and feel dry. another thing to think about is that you cannot use normal dyes afterwards, you have to wait until all of your hair grows out.

Is it true that henna tend to dry the hair?

yep it makes it drier at first. Then after a couple of washes it's good. AND... I coloured over the henna, also did highlights too, you don't have to wait until it grows out. I know a few people who have colour over and stripped it with no probs.

My hair is very dry. And I have grey hair too. Can I do a permanent straightening? Will that worsen

I'm 29 now and I've been having Grey hair since 24. I apply henna once every 2 months. Can you suggest a good shampoo and conditioner or any other treatment that can help me?

My hair is very dry. And I have grey hair too. Can I do a permanent straightening? Will that worsen my hair?

I like pantene they have really good products. try the one that says intensive moisture or something like that.

and if you decide to straighten your hair you should use aphogee. it is supposed to keep hair healthy and undo some of the damage of the chemicals.

My hair is very dry. And I have grey hair too. Can I do a permanent straightening? Will that worsen my hair?

it will make it worse, but you can work it up again, when i got my perm done it was in terrible conditionbut i used special conditioners and its really soft now.

My hair is very dry. And I have grey hair too. Can I do a permanent straightening? Will that worsen my hair?

I take vitamin E (fish oil nature made) 1200 mgs twice to three times a day.

I also use Aussie Moist Shampoo and Aussie Moist Conditioner (around $ 7 a piece for the big bottles) and I love it. Is your hair curly that is why you want to straighten it?

Get your hair feeling smoother and softer first before doing more damage. You can try a salon but I bet Aussie will work. If not there are all kinds of moist shampoos/conditioners out there w/o the cost of the salon.

Good Luck!

My hair is very dry. And I have grey hair too. Can I do a permanent straightening? Will that worsen my hair?

Suave Professionals conditioners is a great line for dry hair. Also Garnier Fructis and a little more pricey line that works is Nexxus. You may want to do a deep conditioner and leave in treatment by Infusium 23.

My hair goes from greasy to dry?

I have shoulder length hair, my daily hair care includes washing at night with shampoo (no conditioner) and brushing it. I don't use hair product or a straighter or anything.

Here's my problem...

My hair is either really greasy and lifeless or it's really dry and frizzy. If I use moisture shampoo it gets way to greasy and if I use shampoo designed to get rid of grease it gets dry again.

What is an easy and inexpensive fix to this problem? If my hair wouldn't be too dry or greasy I would start styling it more but it seems to make the problem worse.

My hair goes from greasy to dry?

Your dilema is a more common one than you might think... There is a specialized product line called Rene Furterer that comes from Paris and one of the shampoos is specifically designed to address precisely this problem. It is called Curbicia. One of the pharmaceutical grade ingredients in it targets the oil production in the scalp by absorbing excess oil without stripping the hair dry. With regular use, it can even begin to regulate/normalize oil production. A lot of celeb stylists use it on their clients who have similar issues. It's the only shampoo I have seen be very effective. An online source for this that has the best pricing I have seen (especially if you buy the liter size that would last you @ six months or so) is www.renefurtereronline.com. If you are serious about making your hair be it's best, try the Rene Furterer Curbicia.

My hair goes from greasy to dry?

use garnier fructis shampoo and conditioner, it works!

My hair goes from greasy to dry?

This is a quick fix, start using conditioner and make it a regualar part of your hair routine. Shampoo is simply a starter, a cleanser, conditioner is the most important process, because it will balance your hair so that it's not too greasy or too dry. Nexxus is a great product line, but it is kind of pricey. A good alternative is the Generic version of thier line, but if its hard to fine, I like Infusium 23, their leave-in conditioner is tops. But don't use the leave-in as an alternative to actually conditioning your hair!

My hair goes from greasy to dry?

Try Kadus Sensitive Shampoo for frequent use.

My hair goes from greasy to dry?

Use conditionar really that will probably work conditionar helps u thruogh alot like static frizzy hair and stuff

My hair goes from greasy to dry?

Using a different shampoo for example using a moisture shampoo on Monday and then on Tuesday use one for greasy hair is very healthy for your hair and for your scalp. Be sure to lather your hair up real well, and then rinse in out thoroughly.

My hair goes from greasy to dry?

First of all you say you wash it every night w/ shampoo and no conditioner and brush it. By washing your hair everyday, you are causing it to be dry. Also...

Greasy Hair

A certain amount of oil or grease is healthy, and in fact necessary for your hair to remain in optimum condition, but too much oil can cause our hair to look dirty and lank.

You can split greasy hair into two types; greasy hair and scalp or greasy scalp and dry hair. If suffering from the latter, our general advice would be to use a shampoo for the scalp and a conditioner for the hair itself, i.e. a shampoo for greasy hair and a dry hair conditioner.

If you have read this and are thinking "I don't have that, it's only my hair that's greasy", then you don't have a grease problem but a product issue! What I mean is that you're using a product that is either:

Not right for your type of hair e.g. too heavy a product for fine hair

Too much of a product/too much in one spot

A poor quality product

Check out the links in the above for the answers to your problem

For those still interested in the grease issue, oil originates from glands in the scalp so this is the area we need to focus on. There are several products for oily scalps to help control the over production of oil, but it is important to know how not to make the condition worse yourself.

If your hair is greasy we tend to wash it more frequently, and scrub it just that bit harder to get it clean and this is exactly what we should be avoiding. The glands which produce the oil are stimulated by massage, therefore we should practice a few of the following habits when dealing with a greasy scalp.

Shampoo with the flat of your fingers rather than the tips for a more gentle cleaning action.

When combing or brushing your hair, don't over do it or use too vigorous an action.

Try shampooing your hair a little less often! Twice a day is too much. I know that this may seem to be the worst thing for someone with a greasy scalp but give it a go. Firstly you need to break the cycle of frequent shampooing, try shampooing every second day. If you find your scalp is still greasy, wash it daily using the gentle technique we suggest above.

Evening Primrose oil or zinc supplements can be beneficial in helping correct sebum (oil) activity.

If the problem persists it could be hormonal or some other internal factor and a trichologist or doctor will need to be consulted.

Ive been using Infusium 23 moisturizing Hidratante Shampoo and Conditioner, this stuff smells good, and feels great, but just try the conditioner, the shampoo isn't that great. I would also try Neutrogena Triple Moisture Shampoo and Conditioner, which is at Target (hard to find, but super great). Good Luck, hope this helps!

My hair goes from greasy to dry?

using something from your local store is why your hair is greasy, they carry wax-y products.

i have problems w/oily hair as well. I wash my hair every morning and condition my hair from the mid shaft down. not my scalp, which is what gets oily. and if you blow dry your hair, i bet you will have some life to your hair. spray hairspray at your scalp, not a lot and then blow dry your hair upside down, you will see a diff.

14 yr stylist

My hair goes from greasy to dry?

Use a shampoo for oily hair, maybe even a clarifying shampoo. Use conditioner too but don't put it on your scalp. Apply it only to the ends of your hair. Comb it through on the ends only. I think Pantene is good and there are even new Suave shampoos that work pretty well. Use a regular conditioner, the ones that add moisture supposedly weigh hair down.

What is the best kind of shampoo and conditioner to use on dry damaged hair?

WHAT I RECOMMEND- IT IS WHAT I USE-WHEN I HAVE EXTRA MONEY TO BUY IT- REDKEN "ALL SOFT" IT IS ESPECIALLY FORMULATED FOR DRY/BRITTLE HAIR. IT HAS ALOT OF PROTEINS, AND AMINO ACIDS, AND AVOCADO OILS THAT MAKE YOUR HAIR SUPER SOFT, AND REALLY SHINY, AND MANAGEABLE. I RECOMMEND THAT IF YOU HAVE ABOUT 13.00 TO SPEND ON SHAMPOO IT IS AWESOME. ALSO, MAKE SURE THAT YOU GET THE CONDITIONER TO. AND WHEN U APPLY THE CONDITIONER-LEAVE IT ON YOUR HAIR FOR ABOUT 5-10 MINUTES. AND IF YOU REALLY HAVE TIME- PUT A PLASTIC CAP OVER YOUR HAIR, AND TAKE A BLOW DRYER AND BLOW HEAT OVER IT, AND IT WILL SOAK THE CONDITIONER IN YOUR HAIR, AND MAKE IT SOOO SOFT!! GOOD LUCK, AND HOPE THAT I HELPED. YOU CAN BUY IT AT MOST ANY HAIR SALON.

What is the best kind of shampoo and conditioner to use on dry damaged hair?

Tresseme for dry/damaged hair or Herbel Essence for dry and damaged hair.

What is the best kind of shampoo and conditioner to use on dry damaged hair?

Nexus

What is the best kind of shampoo and conditioner to use on dry damaged hair?

try Aussie Moist. I love it and it work. Do not use Herbal Essence It has chemical in is that will keep drying out your hair ask anyone who went to beauty school about herbal essence.

What is the best kind of shampoo and conditioner to use on dry damaged hair?

I have always had good luck with Ausie Moist.

What is the best kind of shampoo and conditioner to use on dry damaged hair?

i use bed head extreme moisturizer. it works for me.

What is the best kind of shampoo and conditioner to use on dry damaged hair?

I use the Vive line from L'Oreal. However, if your ends are dry and fried, there is no shampoo or conditioner that will fix it. Slowly get the ends trimmed if you want to keep the length. Trimming the ends will get rid of the unhealthy hair and it will look SO much better!!

What is the best kind of shampoo and conditioner to use on dry damaged hair?

I had dry damaged hair and it wouldn't grow. Here's what I use:

1. Finness Shampoo

2. Herbal Essence Conditioner

3. Frizz Ease

4. VO5 hot oil treatment once a week for a month

Now my hair is down to my waist and healthy.....)(

What is the best kind of shampoo and conditioner to use on dry damaged hair?

its not a shampoo but there is a product called biosilk silk therapy, you use it b4 you brush your hair. don't use too much or you will get grease. its really pricey but you can also go to sally beauty supply and get generic value products silk treatment. same stuff in it.

What is the best kind of shampoo and conditioner to use on dry damaged hair?

Try Dove new line of moisturizing shampoo and conditioner. Hot oil treatments are excellent for dry/damaged hair. Two others to try is a product called Aphogee, it makes the hair hard, but builds the hair. After using this a moisturizing conditioner should be applied to soften. Also, Infusiam is great for dry damaged hair. You should be able find these at your local Sally's Beauty Supply.

What is the best kind of shampoo and conditioner to use on dry damaged hair?

I like Pantene that will help your hair alot

What is the best kind of shampoo and conditioner to use on dry damaged hair?

It's not really the brand that you use, it's how you use it. All shampoos strip your hair of it's natural oils, so the trick is to shampoo only the roots. If you blow dry your hair, don't OVER DUE it. Curling your hair doesn't help either.

What is good for very, very dry african-american (natural)hair and scalp?

Just cut my hair to grow it natural-perms made it break-off and start coming out. No matter what I do to it,my hair and scalp tend to get very, very dry after shampooing and conditioning it.

What is good for very, very dry african-american (natural)hair and scalp?

I have natural hair, too. Sometimes shampoos containing sodium lauryl sulfate, ammonium lauryl sulfate or sodium laureth sulfate can dry out your hair. I use Revlon Creme of Nature shampoo because it's super moisturizing, doesn't contain sulfates and it's inexpensive. Hair grease could be what is making your hair dry, too. I used to wonder why my hair felt so dry despite the amount of hair grease I used. I later learned that the mineral oil and petroleum in the grease was the problem. Mineral oil and petroleum is not easily absorbed by the hair, makes it hard for your hair to absorb moisture and can slow down hair growth by clogging your pores. I use natural oils like coconut oil and shea butter instead of grease and it made a big difference. You should also protect your hair with a silk or satin scarf or use a satin pillowcase when you go to bed. The cotton on your pillowcase will absorb moisture from your hair leading to dry hair and hair breakage.

Try Rogaine, it claims to regrow hair, but in order to keep the new hair, you must continue the regime or the new hair will also fall out. Another option would be for you to go to a hair transplant doctor.

I have lot of hair fall and the hair are very dry after applying lot of oil daily?

oil does nothing. You are going bald, just face it like a man. The only cure is to take 1 toupee one time a day each morning before meals, or if you are allergic to toupee, you might like to try 500 cc of hair plugs.

I need serious help for my dry, frizzy brittle overprocessed hair!?

3 months ago, i added blonde streaks to my beatutiful dark brown hair, then a week ago, had it permed, and i came out way to tight, so I have washed it 5 times since, then today i tried to dye it a reddish brown, it turned pink, so I dyed it again dark brown the same day, please help how do i repair my severly damaged hair, it is very frizzy, and has no elasticity left and the top layer of curls that were blonde are stringy, dry, frizzy, just plain lifeless and damaged. what are some great products or ingredeiants to repair my ugly hair, i look like a gotta bad perm in the 80's.

I need serious help for my dry, frizzy brittle overprocessed hair!?

Aphogee 2 step protein treatment. You can get it at Sally if there's one in your area. There is a protein reconstructor and then you need to use the 2nd step which is a moisturizer/balancer. Don't let the sales girl just sell you the reconstructor by itself. For both bottles it should cost you less than $15 and you'll get more than 1 treatment out of it. The process takes at least an hour and it smells unpleasant while you're using it but it really really helps and the smell's gone by the next day at the latest.

Then for the next few days, conditon, condition, condition! If you can stand to do it, try doing CO washing (conditioner only) for a few days, get some cheap conditioner, use a bunch of it to scrub into your hair and leave on for a few minutes (conditioners have very mild cleansing agents), then rinse, and follow with a good conditioner which you leave on for the normal amount of time. Your hair might feel a bit heavy and you might want to wear it in a ponytail or wear a headband, but it will help.

You'll still probably have to get a haircut, but the protein treatment and conditioning will minimize the damage and the amount you have to cut.

Good luck!

I need serious help for my dry, frizzy brittle overprocessed hair!?

tip for next time. never die your hair twice in one day. the extra chemicals you added to your hair make it look the way it does right now

I need serious help for my dry, frizzy brittle overprocessed hair!?

ok dont panic, first trim ur ends, then buy nutrogenas triple moisture deep conditioner and also wen u wash use a gentle shampoo i suggest a a baby shampoo and a hydrating conditioner then wen u wash only wash ur roots and then add the conditioner onur tips and work ur way up not too much on ur roots also dont color perm or anything for a long time, like about a year and let ur rest. until its moisture is back and to maintain well use a wide toothe comb and also make sure u deep condition once every week for 5 minutes. also i suggest using a leave in conditioner on ur ends like using none of ur frizzness by herbal essences

I need serious help for my dry, frizzy brittle overprocessed hair!?

WHEN YOU GET A PERM YOUR NOT SUPPOSED TO WASH IT FOR 72 HOURS..THATS WHAT MESSED YOUR HAIR UP IN THE FIRST PLACE..YOU HAD TO WAIT FOR YOUR CURLS TO FALL

I need serious help for my dry, frizzy brittle overprocessed hair!?

I use s factor seriuos conditioner from the salon, after I color. It is hard to find though and isnt cheap. Another thing that i learned in hair school is to use vitamin e cream and put in in your hair and wrap it in plastic, then blowdry is for 15 mins. Wash as usual after with a good product, matrix biolage color therapy products are great. Also your going to need a cut. If those things dont work, try going into a salon and getting a glossing coat as it helps repair your hair. Semi permanant dyes such as herbal esscences also repair damaged hair and even out your hair color.

My hair goes dry and ive got split ends what do i do ..?

First, You need a trim really bad. Second, a deep conditioner will hold together the cuticle until you get that trim. You can start the deep conditioning right away by getting a good conditioner like proV and sitting under a hair dryer (the hooded one) for 5 min short hair 10 min longer hair and rinse your hair completely. Finnish off with a good leave in conditioner. Dont forget to get a trim every 2 months.

i use Redken's "all soft" shampoo. it's really good actually. it smoothens out your split ends, adds moisture %26amp; gives your hair a shiny, new look =)

In your opinion, which is the best shampoo/conditioner for dry fine hair?

I have extremely dry hair and the ones that work best for me are Garnier Fructis, Aussie, and John Frieda Frizz Ease, all are labeled especially for dry hair. I've never tried Dove but I've heard good things. Herbal Essence and Pantene do nothing but dry my hair even more. Actually, it depends on the person. Every body's hair reacts differently to a shampoo. For example, my best friend loves Herbal Essence and says it leaves her hair perfect while it does nothing for me but dry it even more. My suggestion is you should do what I did until you find the one that has the best results. Just buy the little sample bottles of each brand of shampoo and try a different one each time you wash your hair. It's pretty cheap and very effective as you'll find a perfect shampoo for you in no time.

In your opinion, which is the best shampoo/conditioner for dry fine hair?

if you want to go the expensive route, then nioxin works well.

it sells for $33 in salons per bottle, but they are large and lasted my whole family about 6.5 months.

Cheaper is the Creme of Nature, it is the greenish one. I used to have it, and it was pretty good, it made my hair very, very thick, but soft which is excellent. I should start buying it again because it is similar to nioxin.

When I dry my hair, it looks like it has been electrocuted. How can I avoid this without using a str

Simply let it dry naturally. Rather than blow-drying it dry it freely with no AC on and brush gently.

When I dry my hair, it looks like it has been electrocuted. How can I avoid this without using a straightner?

Use hair putty, no joke. There are many brands and it will control your hair without making it too heavy.

When I dry my hair, it looks like it has been electrocuted. How can I avoid this without using a straightner?

Maybe you're drying it too harshly or allowing it to fly around as it's drying. As you dry your hair, brush it with a large, round brush, pulling it gently and spinning the brush as you dry done the lock of hair. Start at your scalp and work down, but don't use the highest heat or you'll damage the hair. Use a small amount of smoothing milk (fructis is good) to help keep the hair from frizzing. You also need to use a good conditioner when you shampoo, as well as a leave-in product after.

When I dry my hair, it looks like it has been electrocuted. How can I avoid this without using a straightner?

I dried my hair for years. I have colored it and permed it, and it was getting horrible The best advice I can give is not to dry it or use some sort of gel . They also make anti-friz gels.

When I dry my hair, it looks like it has been electrocuted. How can I avoid this without using a straightner?

Have you tried John Freida's anti frizz serum my friend has the same problem as you and it works great for her.

When I dry my hair, it looks like it has been electrocuted. How can I avoid this without using a straightner?

u could try running a bit of mousse through your hair with a comb.

When I dry my hair, it looks like it has been electrocuted. How can I avoid this without using a straightner?

Mine too....

Deep condition every week for atleast 10-15 minutes.

Use anti-frizz products.

Try using a paddle brush, or round brush...and dry in small sections, piece by piece.

Other than that, Take a break from the dyer every once n' a while. It'll be better for your hair..works for me.

When I dry my hair, it looks like it has been electrocuted. How can I avoid this without using a straightner?

The best product for frizzy hair, I have to say, is Herbal Essences 'None of your frizziness' shampoo and conditioner. It's in their new line of products and it is truly wonderful. Also, I would tell you to get yourself a blow dryer that has a 'cool' button on it. Use low heat and press the 'cool' button every now while slowly brushing your hair with a large, wooden handled brush and because it doesn't damage your hair at all, all it does is blow air on it to make it dry faster. If you tend to wake up with frizzed hair each morning, I would also recommend this product called 'Bed-head' moose. You put the moose in your hair before bed and braid your hair loosely, and guess what? No more fizzy hair in the morning!

Severely DRY DAMAGED HAIR! i cant wear it down anymore the frizzy hairs just goes out of place! PLS HELP!?

yes chemicals make it much worse. cut as much off as you can. once it's this damaged it's no going back. use thick conditioners letting them sit on there several minutes before rinsing. the only way to get your hair back to it's natural condition is to cut the damage off. when mine was damaged it took me months to cut it all off because i didn't want to have short hair. it may speed it up by cutting layers which is what i decided to do. in the mean time thick conditioners daily and continue with hot oil treatments. good luck!

Severely DRY DAMAGED HAIR! i cant wear it down anymore the frizzy hairs just goes out of place! PLS HELP!?

Well hunny why don't you go for rebonding? It straightens your hair permanently until of course you cut it off and it grows back. It might be abit costly like 300 bucks or lesser, depends on where you are. In addition to that, it removes alllll the frizz and looks really pretty because it makes your hair all straight and shiny. But at the same time go for 2 treatments when you're getting your hair rebonded. I have gone rebonding for 6 times in my life and my hair was from yucky to pretty cool because i used to dye my hair and it got all damaged. At the same time, do your own home hair treatments. Buy natural products like from Natural Source. I use that treatment and its wonderful. Also, I'm using this shampoo and conditioner called St Ives. Its wicked, been using it for months now and it makes my hair really shiny. It works. Also use leave-on conditioner after you get out of the shower and don't blow your hair dry. Hot air always damages your hair. My hair is reallly thick and long like near my butt and all this actually works for me. Stop using the hairgel, instead, use leave-on conditioners. Stop the hot iron and just go for rebonding. It saves ALOT of time and doesn't damage your hair. Hope this helps!

Severely DRY DAMAGED HAIR! i cant wear it down anymore the frizzy hairs just goes out of place! PLS HELP!?

First get a trim so the dead ends are gone.

Keep conditioning! Also, use deep conditioner once a week to help with the damage.

Sorry I don't know what a hot oil treatment is exactly so not sure about that...

It's good you stopped using the iron, because it killed your hair! Until it's healthy again, don't use it at all! When it isn't so dry, use it minimally to avoid going right back to how it is now.

Since only time and good care can cure your hair (lol that rhymes!) try these hairstyles for now:

Pigtails or pigtail braids (if you're old, don't do it)

Messy bun

Flip-through ponytail

To do pigtails, use a comb to separate the two "tails" starting halfway down your head. Secure pigtails with elastic bands that are meant for hair.

To do pigtail braids, do the same as pigtails, but instead of securing them, braid then use elastics.

For a messy bun, 1. flip head upside down

2. gather hair like you're putting it in a ponytail, but don't use elastic yet

3. put on elastic but don't pull it all the way through. you should have a folded ponytail (but don't let go yet!)

4. pull elastic around folded pony until it's tightish

5. flip head up

6. mess with it- pull out some strands, w/e.

To do a flip-through ponytail, put your hair in a low (as low as possible) ponytail. pull the elastic band down a little bit, an inch is good. Make a hole in the section of hair before the ponytail and after your head by putting in your finger and seperating the two sides. Pull the ponytail over and through the hole.

Good luck!

Hopefully, it will get healthier within time, but if not you'll just have to wait for it to grow. :(

Severely DRY DAMAGED HAIR! i cant wear it down anymore the frizzy hairs just goes out of place! PLS HELP!?

You need to buy a product by Redken called Cat it is a protein treatment and use everyday it says to rinse out but dont. You also need to get the ends trimed about 6 to 8 weeks you can also get a gloss put over it to close the cuticle of the hair shaft. Also it will help to rinse it in cold water before you get out of the shower.

Severely DRY DAMAGED HAIR! i cant wear it down anymore the frizzy hairs just goes out of place! PLS HELP!?

You can add some deep conditioner once a week and let it sit for hours on your hair before wash off. Not sure if you are more interested in commercial products or homemade recipes:

Cute hairstyles for thick, black, extremely course(dry),& a big wavy and frizzy after washed.hair.

I currently have black, thick, extremely course(dry) past shoulder length hair.. that my mom cut.. and I do not like it. its very unmanagable..it takes along time to wash..and after its washed its very frizzy and poofs up. My mom cut my hair with weird layers..like un professionalized. Its very course(dry) due to genes in my family...and I wanted to see if anyone could help me with suggestions that will make my hair more managable. cute and not ugly. My face is roundish..and I'm asian so I have naturally small eyes with small lids. %26amp; I hate it!. And yeah any suggestions?? pictures would be great!

Cute hairstyles for thick, black, extremely course(dry),%26amp; a big wavy and frizzy after washed.hair..?

Well first of all, stop hating yourself, and if you really want your mom to cut your hair, help her first by showing her some pictures of hair cuts, (Just use google- and type asian hairstyles and you will get so many websites listed).

Then maybe you could use a lot of conditioners and leave on's to smoothen and make your hair more managable. Also, u could use some hair sprays to make it less frezzy.

Cute hairstyles for thick, black, extremely course(dry),%26amp; a big wavy and frizzy after washed.hair..?

i got a bad haircut that sounds a lot like that once... i feel your pain! i went to the store and found some cute clips and new things that i could put my hair up in, and it helped a lot. however, i'm still dealing with many of the same problems. have you tried using a hair straitener? even if your hair is already straight, i find it gets out a lot of the frizziness and poofiness. i take a shower at night, blow dry my hair a few minutes, and give it the rest of the night to dry. by the morning, it's dry and i can striaghten it so it's smooth and frizz free and i can style it in almost any way i want! if you're afraid that the straightener will make your hair dry, there's sprays you can use for thermal protection. you could also try some moisturizing shampoo.
