Use Matrix Sleek Look (Sally's sells the generic version) or Bed Head Moisture Maniac you need to hydrate your hair, after you use either for a week you should start seeing results, your hair wont be as dry or frizzy.

yes chemicals make it much worse. cut as much off as you can. once it's this damaged it's no going back. use thick conditioners letting them sit on there several minutes before rinsing. the only way to get your hair back to it's natural condition is to cut the damage off. when mine was damaged it took me months to cut it all off because i didn't want to have short hair. it may speed it up by cutting layers which is what i decided to do. in the mean time thick conditioners daily and continue with hot oil treatments. good luck!

Well hunny why don't you go for rebonding? It straightens your hair permanently until of course you cut it off and it grows back. It might be abit costly like 300 bucks or lesser, depends on where you are. In addition to that, it removes alllll the frizz and looks really pretty because it makes your hair all straight and shiny. But at the same time go for 2 treatments when you're getting your hair rebonded. I have gone rebonding for 6 times in my life and my hair was from yucky to pretty cool because i used to dye my hair and it got all damaged. At the same time, do your own home hair treatments. Buy natural products like from Natural Source. I use that treatment and its wonderful. Also, I'm using this shampoo and conditioner called St Ives. Its wicked, been using it for months now and it makes my hair really shiny. It works. Also use leave-on conditioner after you get out of the shower and don't blow your hair dry. Hot air always damages your hair. My hair is reallly thick and long like near my butt and all this actually works for me. Stop using the hairgel, instead, use leave-on conditioners. Stop the hot iron and just go for rebonding. It saves ALOT of time and doesn't damage your hair. Hope this helps!

well you have to get alllll of the dead ends cut off. and use damage control shampoos and conditioners. that should help.

First get a trim so the dead ends are gone.

Keep conditioning! Also, use deep conditioner once a week to help with the damage.

Sorry I don't know what a hot oil treatment is exactly so not sure about that...

It's good you stopped using the iron, because it killed your hair! Until it's healthy again, don't use it at all! When it isn't so dry, use it minimally to avoid going right back to how it is now.

Since only time and good care can cure your hair (lol that rhymes!) try these hairstyles for now:

Pigtails or pigtail braids (if you're old, don't do it)

Messy bun

Flip-through ponytail

To do pigtails, use a comb to separate the two "tails" starting halfway down your head. Secure pigtails with elastic bands that are meant for hair.

To do pigtail braids, do the same as pigtails, but instead of securing them, braid then use elastics.

For a messy bun, 1. flip head upside down

2. gather hair like you're putting it in a ponytail, but don't use elastic yet

3. put on elastic but don't pull it all the way through. you should have a folded ponytail (but don't let go yet!)

4. pull elastic around folded pony until it's tightish

5. flip head up

6. mess with it- pull out some strands, w/e.

To do a flip-through ponytail, put your hair in a low (as low as possible) ponytail. pull the elastic band down a little bit, an inch is good. Make a hole in the section of hair before the ponytail and after your head by putting in your finger and seperating the two sides. Pull the ponytail over and through the hole.

Good luck!

Hopefully, it will get healthier within time, but if not you'll just have to wait for it to grow. :(

You need to buy a product by Redken called Cat it is a protein treatment and use everyday it says to rinse out but dont. You also need to get the ends trimed about 6 to 8 weeks you can also get a gloss put over it to close the cuticle of the hair shaft. Also it will help to rinse it in cold water before you get out of the shower.

You can add some deep conditioner once a week and let it sit for hours on your hair before wash off. Not sure if you are more interested in commercial products or homemade recipes:

Besides, after washing your hair, when it's half wet, rub some hair serum or shine oil on your hair, it's gonna help to get your hair under control (ohhh, dont use hair gel too much, just gonna worsen the situation!).
