My hair was absolutely SHOT...

years and years and years of horrible misuse, due to a teenage interest in punk rock and goth scenes.

My hair has been bleached and dyed and horrifyed so many times..

These 4 items are an absolute godsend.

My hair is 20times healthier, shinier and softer.

this stuff is also great...it's designed for the more "ethnic" type hair...african american to be exact, but it works well on all types.

How do i get my hair from dry to healthy quickly?

if it is extremly dry then i suggest cutting the majority of dryness! Most people like to hold on to their dry hair even when it has no shine! and by cutting the dry ends, U can get a new sassy hair cut!!!

ALSO PROFESSIONAL hair conditioning treatments at a salon will imporve the quality alot because they are more concentrated than what you will find on the store shelves.

try to let your hair air dry too if you can! :)

How do i get my hair from dry to healthy quickly?

Try conditioning your hair with a good conditioner and just leave it in for about 30 minutes. Then just wash it out.

If you have thick hair you can add about a tablespoon of mayo for protein.

How do i get my hair from dry to healthy quickly?

Dry hair tends to be thin and rough so try washing less often .To prevent your hair from becoming dry and brittle, avoid using hot curling irons, bleaching and perming .Check out http://solutionsfordryhair.blogspot.com/ for more info.

When I just let my hair air dry it gets puffy and frizzy. What should i put in my hair to make it st

Is there a cream I could put in my hair that will make it silky smooth and straight without styling it after? If there is. How much money is it and were can i buy it. Thanks so much!

When I just let my hair air dry it gets puffy and frizzy. What should i put in my hair to make it straight.?

herbal essences dangerously straight shampoo, conditioner, mousse, hairspray anmd you can get them at target for like 4-10$ per thing and also if its get puffy and frizzy get a little bottle of garnier fructis anti-frizz serum and get a little pump in your hand half to the whole size of a dime depending on how bad your hair is and put it evenly through your hair when its dry to make it shiny and anti frizzy/pouffy

When I just let my hair air dry it gets puffy and frizzy. What should i put in my hair to make it straight.?

silcone, it comes in a small bottle.

same thing happens to me, hope you find out! I think though you can use a gel but i don't really know.

When I just let my hair air dry it gets puffy and frizzy. What should i put in my hair to make it straight.?

the best product for hair like that is probably Aussie mousse and hair spray

When I just let my hair air dry it gets puffy and frizzy. What should i put in my hair to make it straight.?

Yes, Paul Mitchell Super Skinny Serum is GREAT. It makes your hair shiny and straight (and dry faster!) It kind of expensive... between $15 and $20, and its only sold at salons.

If you're looking for something cheaper, Garnier Fructis makes some great smoothing products for around $4 that you can get at your local drugstore.

When I just let my hair air dry it gets puffy and frizzy. What should i put in my hair to make it straight.?

you should try Aussie Hair Insurance Leave-In Conditioner. Its a leave-in conditioner spray that you spray in your hair when its damp %26amp; its leaves it silky, smooth, %26amp; straight. i love it.

you can get a 8oz bottle at Walgreens for about $4

heres the website;

hope i helped. :)

When I just let my hair air dry it gets puffy and frizzy. What should i put in my hair to make it straight.?

LOREAL !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! trust me, it works great! my hair used to be frizzy and it would puff out and look like a pyramid. but loreal conditioner makes it soft, straight, and not frizzy.

and you can buy any type of loreal conditioner because it all is pretty much the same.

also wash your hair in very cold water because hot water makes the natural cuticles on your hair to open and makes your hair frizzy.

hope i helped =]

What home made remedy is good for dry damaged hair?

mayonaise. It really works. Or buy a reconstructing conditioner. Like aussie 3 minute miracle

What home made remedy is good for dry damaged hair?

you can use olive oil make sure you wash well, and when my ends get dry i rub in a little moisturizer cream, just a little on the ends.

What home made remedy is good for dry damaged hair?

You could try a hot olive oil treatment, wrap in a towel for about 20 to 30 minutes and wash out. But also get a conditioning shampoo and regular conditioner for use in between. Have you over processed your hair with chemicals? What's the story behind this dry damaged hair? I always say to give the pros a look because if you're sick you see a doctor, bad hair see a great stylist. Would you let a novice diagnose your heart condition? Same story with hair. It costs to be beautiful, a bit more than a drugstore fix but a guaranteed fix! Try it, you'll be happier with the result!

If you go to a salon for a cut/color, should you expect the stylist to dry and style your hair when

I had been seeing the same styliest since i was 4 (17 yrs). she recently moved to mexico so i started seeing her mom (who worked in the same salon as my old stylist). The first time i went to her i got her to cut my hair. But she asked if i wouldn't mind blowdrying %26amp; styling my self because i know how i like better than she did.

today i got it colored. i used the same colors as i did for a hair show (red highlights %26amp; deep chocolate base). She only charged me the price of a single color rather that the foils and the base color (which would've been more). However, she asked me if i could blow-dry and style.

while i GREATLY appreciate the lower cost (since i am a student), is it expecting too much to be blow-dryed and styled despite the lower cost? My previous styliest always styled my hair after a service...should i start looking for someone new alll together?

If you go to a salon for a cut/color, should you expect the stylist to dry and style your hair when done?

Express your need for your stylist to blow dry and style your hair. That is how we often find new ways of fixing our hair. While i like a price break too, i often need a hair makeover into the new trendy style. Its her job to blowdry and style!!! Your not asking too much.

If you go to a salon for a cut/color, should you expect the stylist to dry and style your hair when done?

As a kid, I remember my stylist always drying and styling my hair.. and not being charged extra.

Now I'm trying to find a good stylist.. One cut my hair too short (two months before my wedding!), one cut it too long.. etc..

In my area, most stylists charge an extra 10 bucks to blow dry and style.. I thought that was what tips were for.. I've always been a good tipper.. but I have a hard time paying an extra ten bucks plus the tip..

I don't know whatever happened to good customer service. =(

If you go to a salon for a cut/color, should you expect the stylist to dry and style your hair when done?

ya i do!!lol

If you go to a salon for a cut/color, should you expect the stylist to dry and style your hair when done?

mine always does. just ask her to do it and tell her that your old one always did.

or ask if its included in the cut/color before you let her do anything to your hair next time.

If you go to a salon for a cut/color, should you expect the stylist to dry and style your hair when done?

you should definately expect the stylist to dry and style it for you! im a hair stylist and i would never ask my client to dry it themselves! thats crazy!

Would the kind ladies and gents please share some important haircare tips? my hair's super dry

i have to color my hair every other week now, and its gone really dry and frizzes up during warm weather..it's straight but looks a bit kinky if not blowed-dry properly.. but i cannot omit coloring it, thats it.. MAYONNAISE does help a little... i can't have it relaxed or it'll become worse, and i would only consider REBONDING the last option. any other inexpensive tricks besides mayo..? would greatly appreciate it, thanks!

take 2 tablespoons of shampoo, 2 tablespoons of coconut oil, and 1/2 litre of mineral water, and mix well..and then shampoo it as usual...after shampooing, apply conditioner..

After the headbath is finisher..roll over the head with towel and leave it. the towel locks the moisture in there, and u could really make it work..

If your not using heat and pressure to dry your hair.. kinks, waves, and frizz are almost bound to show up. Your next best option would be to use those big hair curlers ( 1" and up) to get your hair smooth and you'll have a nice subtle flip at the end.

Wash your hair with Johnson and Johnson's baby shampoo, this will get rid of the excess oil at the roots. When you condition it try not to put it on the roots of your hair. try to have it trimmed about every 6 weeks. Sounds like your hair is damaged and if you keep it trimmed it will help cut the dry hair out. try a leave in conditioner like Dove smooth and soft. This is an anti frizz cream that will not weigh your hair down, again try not to put it on the roots of your hair. I hope this helps and good luck!!!

No new shampoo will help if this is your problem:

"Hair can be considered a barometer of health because hair cells are some of the fastest growing in the body. When the body is in crisis, the hair cells can shut down to redirect energy elsewhere. The types of situations that can cause hair loss include hormonal changes, poor diet and nutritional deficiencies, a variety of medications, surgery, and many medical conditions, but noticeably, thyroid disease.

Many people notice rapid hair loss as a symptom of their hyperthyroidism or hypothyroidism. Some people actually say this is the worst symptom of their thyroid problem -- this thinning hair, large amounts falling out in the shower or sink, often accompanied by changes in the hair's texture, making it dry, coarse, or easily tangled. Interestingly, some people have actually had their thyroid problem initially "diagnosed" by their hairdresser, who noticed the change!"

My hair is thinning and it's oily on the scalp and the hair is dry it looks like straw any good shampoos?

A really GREAT shampoo and conditioner to use is Biolage. I use them both everyday on my hair and it seems to work wonders. I have tried all of the cheap shampoos like Herbal Essences and it seemed to dry out my hair and make it look dirty. I love this shampoo and conditioner because it gives your hair a healthy a shiny look which I love!!! Hope this helps!!! :)

Is it true that henna tend to dry the hair?

Is it true that henna tend to dry the hair?

yah,,I've tried it it's great .. just add to tb of yoghurt..........

Is it true that henna tend to dry the hair?

I tried henna twice and both times it damaged my hair. Supposedly henna is supposed to improve the condition of your hair, but it just made mine dry and coarse. It also took away some of it's natural shine. I wouldn't recommend using henna unless you really know what you're doing. Henna can be very unpredictable.

Is it true that henna tend to dry the hair?

Henna basically coats your hair which can cause it to be dull and feel dry. another thing to think about is that you cannot use normal dyes afterwards, you have to wait until all of your hair grows out.

Is it true that henna tend to dry the hair?

yep it makes it drier at first. Then after a couple of washes it's good. AND... I coloured over the henna, also did highlights too, you don't have to wait until it grows out. I know a few people who have colour over and stripped it with no probs.

O.k i always blow dry my hair then straighten it but it never goes fla t and i have a CHI!!! HELP!?

Please Help

O.k i always blow dry my hair then straighten it but it never goes fla t and i have a CHI!!! HELP!?

Do what I do. I have a Chi too...

Let your hair air dry and then use a serum or some type of protectant. Blowdry your hair to get it generally straight.. Once your done, section your hair into pieces and flatiron carefully. The key to flatironing is to start at the root, not below the root and slowly bump it out and down. This technique seals the hair making it less frizzy and frumpy. Youll get a smooth look. By sectioning it, youll get a better look because your are taking your time on your whole head. When your done, spray some oil sheen or whatever you use to tame ther frizzies at the crown of your hair. Works well for me!!

O.k i always blow dry my hair then straighten it but it never goes fla t and i have a CHI!!! HELP!?

I odn't understand. But if you're saying you blow dry and then straighten, then it's going to turn out flat. Sorry.

O.k i always blow dry my hair then straighten it but it never goes fla t and i have a CHI!!! HELP!?

i dont have a chi but i do have a pretty good straightener

dont dry your hair next time. let it air dry and then straighten it. make sure that all of your hair is dry before straightening it because straightening wet hair can cause split ends and frizz

Sleek.look by Matrix Smoothing System Iron Smoother Spray

O.k i always blow dry my hair then straighten it but it never goes fla t and i have a CHI!!! HELP!?

Some peopl may tell you not to blow dry your hair because it will get frizzy and spilt ended, but I have a REALLY good technique for straightening your hair. Here's what I do whenever I want' need to straighten my hair:

1. Take a shower (in the morning) and ONLY put conditioner on your hair (just for the day when you straighten your hair)

2. When you get out of the shower, put a towel on your hair as if you were going to towel-dry your hair, and leave it on for at least 5-10 mins. (or get dressed with the towel on your hair, and when your done getting dressed, take off the towel)

3. When you take the towel off, brush your hair. (DON'T comb it...BRUSH it) Brush it until it until it your hair line is in the middle and it is parted evenly.

4. (for this step, you have to but something called "motions." You can find it at walmart, target, the mall, beauty shops, etc. On the bottle, it should say all this:

MOTIONS

at home

Hair Lotion

(and then in sideways writing it says:)

OIL MOISTURIZER

(and at the bottom it says:)

condtions, softens, and detangles hair.

Then, on the back it should have pictures and words next to the pictures. One of the pictures says:

Protects from heat damage and dry conditionins.

The bottle is pink, and the cap is purple, and the thing that says "motions' is in cursive and it's purple.

Anyways...you comb your hair back as if you were gonna put it in a pony tail (except you DON'T put a scrunchie on it) and then smooth the "motions" stuff ALL over your hair.

5. Blow dry your hair on high for about 1-2 and a half minutes, and then blow dry it on low (or medium) for about 1 minute, and it should still look a little wet.

6. After blow drying it, BRUSH your hair so it is seperated again, and let it dry a little by it's self for 5-7 minutes. (It should still look a little wet, but not dry, and not soaked.

7. Apply the "motions" on your hair AGAIN...the same exact way as last time.

8. Straighten your hair the way you want it

9. Put in a TINY bit more motions in your hair.

10. Brush or comb your hair one more time.

Your hair should look shiny, straight and REALLY good. Sometimes, if you put TOO much motions on, it looks almost wet for the whole entire day, but even if you do that, it still looks good and straight.

i hope this helps, and if it doesn't work, email me at Sweet_girl_3246@yahoo.com because it might be different for your hair. I have a conair straightener and I just usually put the temperature ALL the way up (so much up that smoke comes out of it) and my hair NEVER gets dry and NEVER ahs split ends. I don't know how a CHI works, but I'll look it up right now just in case you email me for help again.

It's in the beauty section on page 104 in the August issue of seventeen. If you did try it, then did it work good?

For those who blow dry your hair, do you blow dry immediately after taking a shower or?

i let it air dry for a while so it will dry more quickly with the blow dryer

For those who blow dry your hair, do you blow dry immediately after taking a shower or?

I wrap mine in a towel, then do makeup. Then I take off the towel, comb it out and proceed to blow dry. I don't blow dry totally dry though, bc it's harsh on the hair.

For those who blow dry your hair, do you blow dry immediately after taking a shower or?

towel dry to remove excess water apply leave in conditioner to condition and protect excess water adds to drying out hair and more damage from heat

How often is NOT too often to blow dry your hair?

is it damaging to do it 3 times a week?

How often is NOT too often to blow dry your hair?

every other to every 3 days is good.

How often is NOT too often to blow dry your hair?

my advice on the matter is that every day of the working week is too much. Even 3 times a week might be pushing it. If you blow dry to much your hair will become dry, thin and brittle. However my hairdresser told me that if i 'have' to blow dry it for work everyday i should at least use a cream/gel before blow drying my hair, to give it moisture and vitamins. He also suggests that after washing your hair you use a 'hair re-nourishment mask' which gives your hair moisture, shine and helps your locks get stronger. I took the advice! And after i saw how lovely my hair is now that im really looking after it i don't blow dry anymore. I don't want to ruin these lovely locks of mine!

If you dye your hair alot, leave your hair alone and wait to dye it atleast 3 years later or so. Hair dye has terrible chemicals that kill dry/damage your hair.

Brush your hair before shampooing and conditioning so your hair won't be tangeled.

Don't wash your hair everyday try 3 times a week

Avoid combing hair while wet, use a wide tooth comb.

Deep condition twice a week

Trim your hair tips every 4-6 weeks.

While shampooing massage your scalp with your fingertips slowly, it's not necessary to shampoo the ends, then rinse with warm water.

When using a conditioner leave on for about 1-3 minutes so you can get great results then comb hair with wide tooth comb then rinse with very cold water to have shiny hair

If you use gel/hairspray/moose stop using them. They damage and dry up your hair.

If you use heat appliaces (blowdryers, curling irons, hair straightener) use a heat protecter spray so it'll protect your hair from heat.

If your in the sun alot buy a cap or a hoodie to protect your hair from the sun, heat damages and drys out your hair.

Buy a leave-in-conditioner/leave-in conditioner/creme to moisturize your hair all day long and don't rinse.

After your out of the shower set your blowdryer on cool setting and blowdryer your hair for 2 minutes, this will help seal the hair cuticles for a smooth shiny surface.

If you dye your hair do it atleast once a year, hair dye has terrible chemicals that kill your hair.

My hair is very dry at the nape of my neck no matter how much conditioner i use. help!?

That's probably the area that rubs against your collar or clothing. Condition it more often and wear your hair up if possible to avoid the friction with your clothes, especially in the Winter.

My hair is very dry at the nape of my neck no matter how much conditioner i use. help!?

Stop using conditioner! You could be drying out your hair by contantly removing all the natural protective oils. Next time you do to the salon, ask your stylist about it. She might be able to recommend a special shampoo.

My hair is very dry at the nape of my neck no matter how much conditioner i use. help!?

Get a good moisturizer.... and a good leave in cond. I would recomend "Fermodyl (Pink), conditioner" or use the Paul Mitchell Moisturizier.....I'm sure there are others out there equally as good. I order Fermodyl from "Betty, at 1-503-258-1120" in Portland Oregon. She has the Pink Fermodyl 0233, and the 0233 Shampoo together they work very well...... the Pink Fermodyl, Treatment and Shine is a leave in conditioning treatment..... and it works best if you use a squirt bottle,,,and apply where you need it most,,,,, it also works as a detangler...... wonderful stuff. Call her and tell her that Sandy referred ya...... k?

Call her.... she is great..... K?

My hair is very dry at the nape of my neck no matter how much conditioner i use. help!?

Dont go out and buy anything expensive.

First: Purchase a mild Shampoo (To Clarify hair, I will explain why)

Second: TRIM your hair ends (May 1 1/2 to 2 inches)

Third: Here's the magic part: Mix olive oil, almond oil, coconut oil, avocado oil and a "little" honey, (honey u will have to heat so it can blend). Either leave on ALL day or all night (if all nite, DONT use honey)

Use about 1 teaspoon of every oil, and 1 teaspoon of the honey. A little more if ur hair is long and a little less if ur hair is short.

Repeat this 3-4 times a week, your hair will grow like a weed %26amp; remove all frizz I promise,..... and it will be super shiny!!!!

The clairifying shampoo will help take the oil off your hair when u shower. I use Clean Happy from Herbal Essences.

You should use a light conditioner such as Herbal Essences Clean Happy

You can find olive oil anywere, but the other oils you will have to buy at a local organics store, wholes foods or BJ's health corner.

What can I use for coarse, severely dry, relaxed hair?

tresemme moisture rich shampoo and conditioner

or

redken all soft shampoo and conditioner

i have the redken all soft conditioner

What can I use for coarse, severely dry, relaxed hair?

Try a deep conditioner from Redken and such, Go get a deep conditioning treatment at a salon, and it's good if you don't already to wear some leave-in-conditioner (I like Sunsilk).

My hair is too dry can you help me?

my hair needs conditoned or an oil treatment or something. can you tell me a product that will make my hair look like a milliion dollars without the pricetag

My hair is too dry can you help me?

What you need to do is start using sunsilk products for dry hair.

My hair is too dry can you help me?

use lemon juice

My hair is too dry can you help me?

mayonaise!!

My hair is too dry can you help me?

you can make your own conditioner and oil treatment for the oil i use pure olive oil, it works really well, for cond, use mayo.they both work great and are cheap.

My hair is too dry can you help me?

Try the Redken Butter Works, it is a leave in conditioner that is very good.

My hair is too dry can you help me?

fora good product you have to pay for it. ii suggest redken all soft silk fuel kit. it makes your hair really soft and you get like 6-8 weeks worth for $15

My hair is too dry can you help me?

when my hair gets dry from the sun, i use a Biologie Hydrotherapie deep conditioning Balm. Shampoo normally, then use a good amount of the balm. heres my trick... wrap your hair n a towell with the balm still in. get out of the shower for about 10 /15 minutes. when you get back in rinse rinse rinse. it makes your hair feel like first class and itseasy as pie.

My hair is too dry can you help me?

You can go to a hair supply store that is open to the public and ask them which brands they carry or what professional grade they carry.

My hair is too dry can you help me?

mix olive oil in with your conditionor, or look for products with teetreeoil in them

My hair is too dry can you help me?

look @ the back of the products you use and check and see if it has alcohol in it and stop using it, it's causing your hair to be dry and brittle and increases breakage. Look for products with moisture as the first few ingredients, and that goes for shampoos and conditioners too! If your blk stop relaxing your own hair and leave it w/ the pros's, stop using neutralizing shampoo as regular shampoo because its made to strip the hair etc. try wrapping your hair for a while and keep irons ,blow dryers and etc. out of your hair. wrapping creates it's own moisture.

What product is best for dry, fried, frizzzzzzy hair? I really need a fabulous product!!!!!?

i live in louisiana. I usually straighten my hair everyday, and it is dey amd soooo frizzzzy.

Thanks for the help ya'll !!!!

What product is best for dry, fried, frizzzzzzy hair? I really need a fabulous product!!!!!?

A really cheap solution is spray on detangler, like the little kid stuff. So long as you don't put too much on, it really takes the frizz away. If you put too much on it's just greasy and tasty. Leave in conditioner works too, but only the really expensive salon stuff.

.

What product is best for dry, fried, frizzzzzzy hair? I really need a fabulous product!!!!!?

Alright. You should Get Soft and Beautiful. At your local Sallys or Hair store. It worked! Make sure when you shampoo and condition comb through with a comb. Blow Dry on LOW (high or medium will make it worst) or Towel Blot.

If you are looking for a more permanent result. Go to your local beauty salon and ask about a Perm. Beware There are risks!

Contact Me at anytime for more info! Also try www.goody.com

If I have frequently colored hair due to gray I am only 35, I straighten , now my hair is dry breaki

I just want to know if I get a permanent straightener done will it make it worse? That way I dont have to keep using the heat iron.

If I have frequently colored hair due to gray I am only 35, I straighten , now my hair is dry breaking %26amp; thin?

Hang back on the coloring and give your hair some therapy. Not the hair shampoo it sucks!

Try hot oils treatments that run about $5.00 by VO5, I have long hair that tends to get dry from weather change, VO5 does wonders.

Also change up your shamps and condits, try some tresseme with vitamins and moisture. This will keep your hair from becoming lame from using the same thing over and over again.

If I have frequently colored hair due to gray I am only 35, I straighten , now my hair is dry breaking %26amp; thin?

maybe your stressed chill and maybe it will get better

If I have frequently colored hair due to gray I am only 35, I straighten , now my hair is dry breaking %26amp; thin?

Don't wash it as often and avoid any heating.

If I have frequently colored hair due to gray I am only 35, I straighten , now my hair is dry breaking %26amp; thin?

there are products that you can use on your hair that will help protect your hair while you straighten and also leave-in conditioners. a permanent straightneing only lasts for three months and it is a chemical that they use to straighten it. i straighten my hair constantly due to my curls and i use a product that i spray on the hair and then straighten and i alos use a special conditioner to help deal with the damage that is caused.i honestly suggest that if you do keep using a flat iron then do it every couple of days and just go a day in between where you don't wash your hair.i wish you the best with the grays and straightening, good luck

If I have frequently colored hair due to gray I am only 35, I straighten , now my hair is dry breaking %26amp; thin?

don't use permanent hair color use semi permanent or shampoo in good for 30 days or go to your local beauty supply place and they now have this color gray hair thing that looks like mascara and you can just color what needs to be done unless you have allot of gray. Good luck.

What is the best way to blow dry my hair straight?

I've tried like you see on Tv by just dragging the blow dryer after my brush, but its not working, so I am sensing there is more i need to be doing. Help please!

What is the best way to blow dry my hair straight?

Shampoo:

閳?Before getting into the shower, gently brush or finger-comb your hair to loosen up tangles and residue.

閳?Wet hair and pour a small amount of Pantene Smooth %26amp; Sleek Shampoo into your palm.

閳?Rub your hands together and gently massage into the roots using the tips of your fingers. (Careful! Vigorous rubbing can cause strands to break.)

閳?If you wear makeup, pay special attention to the hairline.

閳?Rinse thoroughly with warm water to remove all of the shampoo.

Condition:

閳?Conditioning is key to creating shine and preserving hair health.

閳?After shampooing, carefully remove excess moisture by squeezing your hair with a towel. (Be gentle. Rubbing and twisting with a towel can break the hair.)

閳?Squeeze a small blob of Pantene Smooth %26amp; Sleek Complete Therapy Conditioner on your palm and spread it over your hands, then apply it to your hair.

閳?For super shine, condition the entire strand, starting at the roots.

閳?For volume, condition only the middle and ends of your hair, where it's most susceptible to damage.

Styling:

閳?It's easier to apply styling products to hair that's just damp, so towel off first.

閳?Squeeze a palmful of Pantene Get It Straight Gel or Smooth Down Frizz Control Smoothing Cr鐚玬e into your hands and rub them together.

閳?Distribute the styling formula evenly by "clapping" sections of hair between your flat hands and gently pulling downward.

Blow-dry:

閳?Use the hot setting on all of your hair to accelerate the drying.

閳?When hair is about half dry divide it into sections so you can concentrate the blow dryer and brush on one area.

閳?Use clips to divide the top front and sides, then blow-dry them one at a time using a flat brush (smaller bristles work best). Once the top and sides are finished, you can move to the back.

閳?A flat paddle brush works best. Its wide surface area spreads hair out and keeps it taut, which aids in the straightening process.

閳?Follow the brush with the blow dryer, keeping the blow dryer about five inches away from the hair.

閳?Too much heat can cause damage. Once hair is mostly dry, reduce the heat and add a nozzle. Start from the roots and follow the brush down, keeping the hair taut but not stretched too tightly. The cooler air locks in the style you want.

Set Your Style:

閳?A generous spritz of Pantene Stay Smooth Hairspray Flexible Hold will keep your smooth look in place for hours.

I hope this helps!

What is the best way to blow dry my hair straight?

I hate blowing my hair because I feel like it just comes out all frizzy (poofed) but, I realized that the little piece you add on to the tip of your blower is a HUGE help. Your brush might be the problem too. Try a big round brush with hard bristles, not the soft ones.

What is the best way to blow dry my hair straight?

You need to use a large round barrel brush. It does take practice to get good at it, but if you don't have the patience, use a flat iron or hair straightner instead. Conair makes a good one.

What is the best way to blow dry my hair straight?

First of all, dry your hair in small sections starting from the bottom. Point your dryer straight down so you don't ruff up the hair shaft and get all frizzy. Dry section by section until you get to the crown of your head and if you need to, go through it with a straightener after for added straight-ness!

What is the best way to blow dry my hair straight?

point the dryer downwards down your hair and comb it. use hairspray to tame waviness/ curliness. dry while its wet!

What is the best way to blow dry my hair straight?

You're going to want to wash your hair with a moisturizing shampoo it will provide extra moisture that will protect your hair from the effects of the blow dryer. After the wash, towel off your hair slightly, just enough to stop the dripping. Separate your hair in to sections. The bigger the section, the longer it will take to dry i reccomend smaller sections becuae you get better results and its more easier. It's best to go for 4-6, but it depends on how much hair you have but make sure nothing is tangled. Use heat protectant. Start blow drying at the top/roots, about six inches away. Maintain this distance throughout, so nothing burns. Work your way down, and remember to move the blow dryer around, again, so nothing burns. NEVER DRY IN AN UPWARDS MOTION! As soon as it feels dry, stop; keep going any longer, and your hair will turn to hay. You should put in a moisturizing hair spray, anti-frizz cream or conditioner after you're finished blow drying, just to quench your hairs' thirst. If it comes out frizzy or puffy which happens to some people when they blow dry their hair you might want to go with a flat iron just go get it flatter and shinier. Then use a shine spray.

Does your hair have to be completely dry to straighten?

can my hair be damp when i use a strightening iron or does it need to be completely dry?

Does your hair have to be completely dry to straighten?

it really should be compleatly dry with a thermal protectant oil.

Does your hair have to be completely dry to straighten?

its need to be dry or it will burn

Does your hair have to be completely dry to straighten?

Yes

Does your hair have to be completely dry to straighten?

it works better if its al the way dry !

Does your hair have to be completely dry to straighten?

i have a straightener where you can do it wet so it depends on the straightener

Does your hair have to be completely dry to straighten?

well you should let it dry completely before straightening.

but unless you have a wet/dry straightener you are fine.

Does your hair have to be completely dry to straighten?

if its not completely dry then when you straighten it, its going to burn. and that will not be good. blow dry it and then straighten. be careful.

Does your hair have to be completely dry to straighten?

faster and more effective if it's dry. humidity is the enemy of straight hair.

Does your hair have to be completely dry to straighten?

has to be dry or it will burn. it really depends on what type of straightener, and what temp. it goes to.

Does your hair have to be completely dry to straighten?

There are straighteners that allow you to straighten while damp

Does your hair have to be completely dry to straighten?

if its a normal straightener then, yes. it mustb e. or youll brun your hair.

they do have straightners out there that can have your hair dryed and straightened at the same time.

go and look for one. it will save time.

Does your hair have to be completely dry to straighten?

definitely.

if it isn't it will burn and take out all the nutrients.

Does your hair have to be completely dry to straighten?

It really depends on the iron you have. My friend has a iron that she sets on "steam" and then she uses it on her hair while its damp. If you have an older or cheaper model then you should keep your hair dry for best results.

Does your hair have to be completely dry to straighten?

Def needs to be dry or it will burn rally bad.

Does your hair have to be completely dry to straighten?

it can be but you hair will burn..and if u do straighten your hair wen it is damp make sure its just a little damp or for me i always do a little damp because my hair tends to *** out shinier

Does your hair have to be completely dry to straighten?

it can be damp. i have a wet to dry straightener i think its made by revlon and it works great. you should always use some kind of serum to protect your hair from all heat though :o)

Does your hair have to be completely dry to straighten?

yes because usually if it is not it could be dangerous and if you straighten over hair or partly wet hair sometimes turns to be wavy or poofy when it dries. it can be damp but not really damp.

Does your hair have to be completely dry to straighten?

you can buy a wet/dry straightener. and make sure to always put a heat protector on your hair first.

Does your hair have to be completely dry to straighten?

I have a straightener that works wonders by Remington, it's called "wet2straight"... It says you can use it on wet hair, but I'd recommend letting your hair dry first.

I've only attempted straightening my wet hair twice, and both times were disaster. Good luck. 閳?br>Does your hair have to be completely dry to straighten?

If it's not completely dry, the water in your hair will boil (straighteners reach surprising temperatures) and cause little frizzes and even bubbles in your hair.

Does your hair have to be completely dry to straighten?

Well i think it would do some damage to your hair. but i think if it just a little bit damp its okay. Not to wet because thats one way to develope split ends faster. I you dry it fully and spray so sleek and shine from bed head it would be best!

Does your hair have to be completely dry to straighten?

not really, u can if ur hair is a little damp. But only at a low temp. It will burn ur hair if the temp is higher then about 300.

Does your hair have to be completely dry to straighten?

I straighten my hair all the time with a ceramic flat iron. Even though you can use one while a little damp the best results come when your hair is dry. I normally get it as straight as possible with my hair dryer then spray on a shining mist while using the iron. The serums leave my hair greasy but not the mist. Perfectly straight every time!

Does your hair have to be completely dry to straighten?

dry it bad boy

Does your hair have to be completely dry to straighten?

Unless you have a wet-or-dry iron then it should be completely dry or it will burn and damage your hair. I just bought a wet-or-dry iron from sephora. I like it a lot!

Does your hair have to be completely dry to straighten?

Well I have african american hair and when my hair is a LITTLE damp I use the straightening iron but it does work alot better when it's dry....I have one white friend and she told me when her hair is damped a little she some times strightend her hair with the straightening iron also and it looks great but it does work better with dry hair....

my hair was the same way.

get a haircut + it will make it healthier.

and if you use a hair straightener, dont use it so much.

you WILL regret it.

My hair is dry out how can i make it look better??

use mayo on your hair. lather it in and leave on for 10-15 minutes. then rinse really well and make sure to use a good smelling shampoo to get the smell out. you could also spend a few bucks and get a trim and hot oil treatment. try not to use hair dryers and irons often because those really causes the hair to fry and dry out.

yeah.. but be careful..

Can i blow dry my hair and use my ipod headphones at the same time?

Well you get any damage if you don't dry you hair after washing it?

I sometimes don't dry my hair, just wanna know..

Well you get any damage if you don't dry you hair after washing it?

shouldn't cause damage. the blow dryer causes the damage. don't use a hairbrush on wet hair, only a comb.

Well you get any damage if you don't dry you hair after washing it?

not at all, you get damage if you dry too often. i'd rather let it dry by itself, in case i dont have to make it look nice for a special occasion.

Well you get any damage if you don't dry you hair after washing it?

Actually It is good for your hair to let it air dry. (if that is what you are saying)

Well you get any damage if you don't dry you hair after washing it?

What can i use to air-dry my hair and make the curls look less frizzy and more...together/defined?

My hair gets really frizzy if I don't do anything with it and air dry it. Enter: Aussie hair care products! They are the best I've found for keeping my hair under control. If you want a soft, dry curl look, use the medium hold mouse and a little finishing spray. I like the wet look, so I use the Maximum hold mousse, then Spray 'n' sprunch, and finish off with Instant Freeze maximum hold hair spray. I love Aussie, cuz you can mix and match products to get the look you want. Good luck!

Don't comb your hair once you get out of the shower. comb it with the conditioner in. finger comb it when you get out and add more conditioner to it like a cream, squeeze your hair together as you apply it. then put a curl defining cream(Curls Rock Catwalk line by TiGi/Bedhead)on and scrunch the ends with it. it will dry better in the house rather than in the wind outside.

After a shower comb you hair with a wide tooth comb and not too much. You can put leave on conditioners, hair creams or anti-frizz creams (Sebastian) or hair oils. Have a hair treatment ones a week and use a good set of shampoo and conditioners for your type of hair. Hope I helped you.

What can i use to air-dry my hair and make the curls look less frizzy and more...together/defined?

use a pick or a wide tooth comb and comb through a conditioner. Biolage by Matrix makes a curl defining creme that is AMAZING and smells great only it cost around 12.00 but it is worth it.

You can apply a hair wax (like Bumble and Bumble Styling Wax) or pomade (like Got2B Defiant Define Plus Shine Pomade).

Does mineral oil or petrolatum dry your hair?

No but both block your pores try to use natural oils like rosemary oil (they contain protein that is the only thing that absorbs into the shaft).

Does mineral oil or petrolatum dry your hair?

no it will make it greasy if you use to much. it is very good for your hair

When I spray the hair protectant on my hair should I wait for the spray to dry or can flat iron it s

The last time I used a heat protectant spray( the first ingredient in mine is water), it made this horrible burning sound so i would wait for the spray to dry to flat iron that section of my hair( I have a Chi so it gets pretty hot), but am i being paranoid. What do you all do. I thought i was supposed to flat iron my hair right after spraying the heat protectant.

When I spray the hair protectant on my hair should I wait for the spray to dry or can flat iron it still wet?

NEVER PUT HEAT ON WET HAIR REGARDLESS IF IT'S A PROTECTANT OR NOT. PLEASE READ THE BACK OF THE BOTTL FOR INSTRUCTION TOO.

When I spray the hair protectant on my hair should I wait for the spray to dry or can flat iron it still wet?

Theres some that say on the bottle which you can do,

But generally, I'd wait til your hair was dry,

I have had the problem of catching my hair on fire by not waiting " Go ahead laugh" lol

When I spray the hair protectant on my hair should I wait for the spray to dry or can flat iron it still wet?

yeah I don't know I just got a hair straightener and I was having the same problem today. My hair was really straight but who knows what it did to my hair.

When I spray the hair protectant on my hair should I wait for the spray to dry or can flat iron it still wet?

First of all, what do the instructions on the bottle say? I would guess you should wait until it dries....water and any electrical appliance do not mix well...in fact, can be deadly....so read the instructions.

When I spray the hair protectant on my hair should I wait for the spray to dry or can flat iron it still wet?

doesnt really matter burning sounds happen like a sizzle cause you have water and very high heat mixing. most the time i blow dry my hair then flat iron it. as do hair dressers. but if your hair poofs out like mine does just wing it and use the flat iron and blast music while doing it if that sound continues to scare you so.

let me know how it works.

When I spray the hair protectant on my hair should I wait for the spray to dry or can flat iron it still wet?

no.. u have to wait stil it dries...o else tat 'll damage ur hair. moreover...if u spray it wen its till wet....da spray will stick onto ur iron ....becumin sticky particles...wen ever to iron ur hair again...once the iron is hot da particles will melt on the iron ...with a kind of horrible smell.

When I spray the hair protectant on my hair should I wait for the spray to dry or can flat iron it still wet?

Any moisture on your hair will sizzle when you apply heat immediately after. I say at least wait a couple seconds or even better I would call the manufacture directly, the # is usually directly on the bottle or you can find it online. The people that they have answering calls for most professional hair care products have some stylist experience.

When I spray the hair protectant on my hair should I wait for the spray to dry or can flat iron it still wet?

My question is,do you lay down on the ironing board doing this or just tilt your head onto it?

How do african american females dry their hair after washing it instead of blowdrying it?

we sit under the dryer. African -Americans have close to the same hair regiment as you all when it comes to drying it anyway. For example we perm out hair to make it straight white people perm their hair to make it curly. White people wash their hair everyday, blacks we wash out hair every other week, because our hair is a different consistency than white people's. But back to the question at hand, when we blow dry our hair we are trying to get it straight most of the time. When we sit under the dryer we are trying to obtain a certain style, meaning after the beautician styles our hair anyway we want it. Hope this info helped.

How do african american females dry their hair after washing it instead of blowdrying it?

i figure just let it air dry or towel dry it, my sis in law would do that because the blow dryer would make her hair dry and brittle.

How do african american females dry their hair after washing it instead of blowdrying it?

9 time out of 10 if you don't blow dry, you're screwed! It'll frizz all up. Only other options are air drying (uhhgg!) or sittting under the hair dryer.

How do african american females dry their hair after washing it instead of blowdrying it?

What-they do? Are you sure they all do that?

How do african american females dry their hair after washing it instead of blowdrying it?

i just let it air dry sometimes. but it takes a long time.

How do african american females dry their hair after washing it instead of blowdrying it?

Use a towel to wipe it dry and leave it to dry naturally by the wind...

How do african american females dry their hair after washing it instead of blowdrying it?

Are their hair similar? I dont think so!!

How do african american females dry their hair after washing it instead of blowdrying it?

Well, I'm not African American but I do have very curly hair. If I use a blow dryer I turn into a big puff ball. I just towel dry it and let it air dry naturally.

How do african american females dry their hair after washing it instead of blowdrying it?

I don't know who told you that we don't blow dry our hair, but we do. Sometimes we let it air dry. Or we sit under the dryer. Sitting under the dryer leaves more moisture in your hair than when you use the hand held dryer.

How do african american females dry their hair after washing it instead of blowdrying it?

Blowdrying and sitting under a dome dryer are not the only solutions for drying tightly coiled, non-relaxed hair. As another person suggested air drying is an obvious option. If you want to stretch/straighten the hair, then you can BRAID it or BAND it. Banding is when the hair divided into sections and (safe) elastic bands or ribbons are placed along the length to stretch the hair. When the hair is dry, remove the bands and your hair is straightened similar to blowdrying.

How do african american females dry their hair after washing it instead of blowdrying it?

DON"T blowdry your hair! it damages it! as an indian i think that letting it dry naturally, or drying it with a towel is the way i do it.............

Is BIOLAGE cerum oil healthy for daily use?some say cerum can make my hair dry is it true?

It is fine for daily use, unless you notice your hair getting oily. Dry hair should not be an issue !

Is BIOLAGE cerum oil healthy for daily use?some say cerum can make my hair dry is it true?

I would'nt use serum oil, as using it daily will make the hair Greasy not dry!

Serum should only be used lightly before drying the hair, it only tames the hair and smoothes it down. I suggest using a daily conditioning spray as it would be more appropriate.

Sunsilk has a fantastic range, but what ever range you choose just remember to buy a shampoo and conditioner for dry and frizzy hair.. this will moisturize %26amp; help smooth the hair cuticles down allowing it to be manageable and not so fly away. good luck.

What can i use to wash and conditon my hair so it won't dry out and remain soft all day???

I am a mixed african american male. I have naturally spiral curly hair thick in texture. I've tried many different products but nothing works .... if it does work it only works once or twice then my hair gets use to it and rejects it. Due to the nature of my hair i have to wash my hair almost everyday. This causes my scalp to be very dry. What are my options?

What can i use to wash and conditon my hair so it won't dry out and remain soft all day???

I really do not know but my best knowledege is to go to a salon and ask them what is the best product for your hair I am sorry that I am not much help for you but good luck

What can i use to wash and conditon my hair so it won't dry out and remain soft all day???

Ojon - it is an all natural hair product line that was developed by natives in central america - any nationality (race) or hair type can use it - you can get more details from sephora.com in the hair care section - I love it (I'm Mexican-American and have very thick, wavy, but dry hair and dry scalp). Good luck!

What can i use to wash and conditon my hair so it won't dry out and remain soft all day???

I use Pantene Pro-V shampoo and conditioner (for women of color) and then I use Motions Ultra Conditioner (purple and gold bottle). You have to let the Motions conditioner sit for about 15-20 min. and then rinse it off. But these 2 products work wonders on my hair as I am also a mixed woman. You can get all of them for no more than $12 for all 3. Good luck!

Does any1 kno the best hair products to help black hair w/ dry scalp 2 stay mouisterized & grow

try dr. miracle's gro oil it's suppose to help with dry scalp and as you put it on it gives your scalp a tingly feeling which massages your scalp and that makes your blood flow which cause hair growth. i love it i just started using it about 4 days ago and my hair feels so much stronger and healthier. also you can try hair formula 37 which made my hair grew about 1 inch in a month it's pretty expensive but worth it

Does any1 kno the best hair products to help black hair w/ dry scalp 2 stay mouisterized %26amp; grow very quickly?

Try Do Gro scalp oil products. In the summer, my scalp is especially dry and itchy which causes my hair to shed a lot due to lack of moisture. It really helped a lot. I also bought a rake/scalp brush. I make sure that I brush with it almost every night. It helps to stimulate my scalp and relieves any itching. As far as a product that will help your hair grow quickly, I do not believe there is such a product.

Can anyone recommend a good shampoo and conditioner for dry, thick curly hair?

I am currently using Pantene Hydrating Curls but don;t think it conditions well. I am losing a ton of hair trying to get the knots out.

Can anyone recommend a good shampoo and conditioner for dry, thick curly hair?

I understand your pain, I've battled with hellish thick unruly curly frizzy hair for my whole life. Truth is, you do tend to need to pay a bit more to get a good product - but the results make it worth it.

Here are some brands I really like and I think you should try:

1) Paul Mitchell - from salons only:

Awaphuhi Shampoo 鎷?ish

Colour Protect Conditioner (even if your hair is not coloured, this is a really good moisturising conditioner) 鎷?ish

2)Aussie - Boots, Superdrug:

Miracle Moist Shampoo and Conditioner - 鎷?.50ish

3 minute Miracle - 鎷?ish

3) Tony %26amp; Guy - Salons only:

Fashionista Colour Conditioner

Curls Rock Shampoo and Conditioner

4) Kerastase

Soin Elasto-Curl 200ml

All their deep treatments are great too

BUT if you are super broke, Tresemme moisturising range is pretty cheap and quite good.

Hope this helps!

The Fructis combination shampoo / conditioners work wery well... try one for dry hair...

You could try a separate conditioner with the Pantene... and / or a light hold styling gel or shine enhancer rubbed into your damp hair before combing through to make it much easier.

Pantene is probably one of the worst things u can put in your hair. Honestly, use Infusium 23. You will LOVE the conditioner. If your hair is REALLY dry, use the leave in treatment as well.

Tell mom to take 2 tbls. of apple cider vinegar in a glass of water 2-3 x day. ACV has 93 vitamins and minerals. Its all natural and very inexpensive. Hair and nails will grow long. Read the apple cider vinegar cures website. Give it about a month to notice the difference. Will give her lots of energy and cure depression too. Also ACV makes bones and teeth strong.

What is the best product to use to blow dry black hair straight.?

i have fine hair and i need volume too

What is the best product to use to blow dry black hair straight.?

Well, it all depends. First an foremost you must know that black people have hair that comes in a variety of textures and what may work for some may not work for you. Is your hair relaxed? If so, and your hair is fine, you should avoid blow dryers and opt for a roller set. Once your hair is dry, wrap it, and sit under the dryer for another 20-30 mintes. Your hair will be bouncy and full! You can also try using a ceramic flat. A real ceramic flat iron and not those sold at your run of the mill beuty supply stores. These irons will protect your hair while you flat iron it straight and can even be used on wet hair! A true ceramic iron will run you anywhere from 70-200 bucks. The Chi and Maxi-glide are great examples! Maxi-glide is sold at Bed Bath and Beyond and the Chi can be purchased online or even on ebay for cheap! The cheaper ones are ceramic coated and leave your hair dull and lifeless. If your hair is relaxed, wash and condition it. Part your hair as you like, and then allow it to dry 90% under a hood dryer. Then section your hair and flat iron. Use a glosser for shine! If you hair is natural, do the same thing or blow it out a little (don't try to straighten it with the blow dyer). When it's 90% dry, use the iron and you will be good to go.

What is the best product to use to blow dry black hair straight.?

I use TCB bone straight blow dry lotion and Try blow drying in small parts using a circular bristle brush and blow dryer. clip rest of hair out of the way as you deal with each section. Add hair dress and blow dry hair as a whole.ok.

I find the comb section of a blow dryer does not make the hair bone straight. believe me

What is the best product to use to blow dry black hair straight.?

Personally, I put this comb that you can buy at any beauty supply on my blow dryer, it blow drys and combs your hair at the same time. Also make sure you put oil on your hair. This is what i do and usually my hair is pretty straight.

What is the best product to use to blow dry black hair straight.?

when my hair is wet, i dont towel dry it all the way, I section it in 4 sections clip it out of the way. I then put bone straight, a lil bit of carrot oil and some leave in conditioner on the part that I am working on. Then, using a comb attachment on the blow dryer *i use the metal one, but I got hella thick hair*, start from the root of the hair, pulling the hair taught and comb to the end of the hair. Repeat until completely dry. Take a break if your hair holds heat and make sure that your hair is actually dry and not just hot before moving to the next section.

Dyed hair twice and now it's super dry - help!?

Okay - here's the problem.

I dyed my hair about 4 weeks ago and the color turned out aweful - so bad that I was embarassed to go to work the next day.

To "fix" this problem, I went and bought a more suitable color for me, and re-dyed my hair. (I know...bad!) The new color turned out nice but ever since then, my hair has been SUPER dry.

I should also mention that I use a flat iron everyday, but I've used a flat iron everyday even before I ever dyed my hair, and it never felt dry like it does now.

Is there anything I can do to restore the softness to my hair? I've been using different moisturing shampoos and such, but nothing is working.

What would you suggest to make my hair soft again and not feel so dry?

Dyed hair twice and now it's super dry - help!?

Put mayonise in your hair it will restore it and give it shine and luster u can also use avocados GOOD LUCK:)

Dyed hair twice and now it's super dry - help!?

try putting in conditioner and then wrapping your hair in a hot towel leave it in for 30 min and then rinse it with vinager and then rinse it with cold water the vinager will help seal the cutical and the moisture back in the hair hope this helps froma cosmetologist

Dyed hair twice and now it's super dry - help!?

I've been in your situation, and it is no fun!

If your hair is really damaged, you may have to cut some off, otherwise the split ends could spread upwards and damage the rest of your hair. GET AT LEAST AN INCH CUT OFF ASAP. DO NOT TRIM IT YOURSELF!! (I tried this and it looked awful). Also:

1. Stop using a flat-iron. In fact, avoid all heated hair appliances.

2. Get a deep conditioner like Nexus Humectress and leave it on for about an hour under a hot towel, then rinse most of it off. Do this once or twice a week.

3. Wash your hair less, especially if it is wavy or curly.

4. Get a consult at a beauty salon that comes with recommendations from people you know. A consult should be free. If they suggest you cut off your hair, tell them you'll think about it and come back so you don't make an impulse decision. Don't bring your wallet---you may regret that super-short cut tomorrow.

5 . Don't use shampoos with sulfates--they dry out your hair.

6. Don't use products with ingredients that end in "-cone" (such as dimethicone). These ingredients coat your hair and make it look better temporarily but will dry out your hair in the long run.

7. If you have curly or wavy hair, consider the "no shampoo" route. Get more information at Naturallycurly.com

8. Lay off of the dye for at least 6 months. Your hair will thank you.

9. Try not to freak out. Your hair will grow out and recover eventually.

Good luck!

Dyed hair twice and now it's super dry - help!?

ive had this happen to me to last year..something that really ended up helping me is putting a leave in conditioner in my hair . i used one by paul mitchell. after showering put some in let it dry with it in, it might make it a bit oily but your hair will get gradually softer and healthier.

i did this all last summer and by september it was back to normal and healthy!
