The last time I used a heat protectant spray( the first ingredient in mine is water), it made this horrible burning sound so i would wait for the spray to dry to flat iron that section of my hair( I have a Chi so it gets pretty hot), but am i being paranoid. What do you all do. I thought i was supposed to flat iron my hair right after spraying the heat protectant.

First of all, what do the instructions on the bottle say? I would guess you should wait until it dries....water and any electrical appliance do not mix well...in fact, can be deadly....so read the instructions.

doesnt really matter burning sounds happen like a sizzle cause you have water and very high heat mixing. most the time i blow dry my hair then flat iron it. as do hair dressers. but if your hair poofs out like mine does just wing it and use the flat iron and blast music while doing it if that sound continues to scare you so.

no.. u have to wait stil it dries...o else tat 'll damage ur hair. moreover...if u spray it wen its till wet....da spray will stick onto ur iron ....becumin sticky particles...wen ever to iron ur hair again...once the iron is hot da particles will melt on the iron ...with a kind of horrible smell.

Any moisture on your hair will sizzle when you apply heat immediately after. I say at least wait a couple seconds or even better I would call the manufacture directly, the # is usually directly on the bottle or you can find it online. The people that they have answering calls for most professional hair care products have some stylist experience.
