I over dyed my hair and I need help. It's very dry and I have some scabs. I wanna get the moisture back in my hair and back into my scalp. Also when is the earliest I should even try to re-dye it later?

you could do d few things.

go to a good hair salon and ask for them to give your hair and intensive moisture treatment. i know that my salon does this for about $15.

shampoo and condition every night that is for extra dry hair or coloured hair.

go out and get a hair treatment for dry hair. tis is like a masque and you will leave it in for 45mins to lock in the moisture.

to reilive to scabs which i'm guessing are sore. get some olive oil and rub it on your entire scalp and ends leave in for 20-30 mins and wash out completely.

if u want a less drier hair, you can buy hair products that have oil, like avocado oil, i have heard about papaya oil, etc

I would get a good cut to get all the dead ends off and wait until your scabs have completly healed before you dye your hair again. Try to go for a more natural shade so you dont have to dye it so often. I wouldnt even go with the box dye b/c of how strong it is on your hair/scalp. I would go to a hairdresser, the chemicals are not as bad+ they know what they are doing. If you cant afford to go all the time, at least go for the next colouring so you can get some good advice.

well let me say for myself i have been through it and the only true thing to do is first buy some salon type conditioner because it is the best out there use it often it will not bring back the life that was in your hair but it will help with frizz and tangles, when you color your hair and or perm it the chemicals in the dye stripe your hair of its oils and minerals what i had to do over the course of about 2 years is i had to get it trimmed up about every 2 weeks because once you get rid of the dead dry hair the new hair grows in about the scabs useing the conditioner will moisten your scalp and stop the irritation also don't scratch your head with your fingernails and about coloring it again the best thing to do for healthy beautiful hair is to never color it again

The earliest I've tried to redye my hair after was 4 months. It didn't really damage my hair but I lost a lot of hair. When my hair was really dry I used Neutrogena triple moisture deep recovery hair mask. I got it for $7 at walmart and it works really good =) Condition your hair really good, don't curl, or straighten it. I don't know about the scabs however. I also heard that hot oil treatments are raelly good.
